Why do you think the Jews got all the blame for the crucifixion? How else was the Christian church going to grow in a Roman ruled world? The Romans couldn't be blamed, so the Jews had to. He didn't need to be accepted by the religious leaders, he had to aim to get the common people to believe he was the Son of God. The common people would of been taught that rabbi's needed to be married to become actual rabbi's, to be teachers. Jesus is most notable being a teacher, a rabbi, and the common people wouldn't of called him a rabbi if he wasn't married. But as he's called a rabbi, he wouldn't be just some super-genius Son of God person, he would of been married to be a rabbi.

I'd hate to say this, but you seriously need to read The Holy Blood & The Holy Grail. Written by historians, which wasn't even meant to be able Christianity in the first place, but got down to the Gospels and other pieces of interesting hypothesis's (note how I said hypothesis's, not facts).

If the Pope got married, we would hear about it. Is not Jesus more important than the Pope? Come on....common sense people. If Jesus got married, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RECORDED!

Did you know that in the 4th century they called a meeting/council to set up what books would be in the New Testament, and to cut out some stuff.

They cut out some stuff to make Jesus more like the Son of God. Cause, you know, why would the Son of God need a lowly human wife?

Guy claims to be God, and you think the most remarkable thing about him is his eligibility?
Jesus said that he had no home. How many wives are going to be cool with that?
Jesus said people had to hate their mothers and brothers in comparison to their love for him. You think his wife is exempt? or that marriage is more important than blood?
Finally, Rabbi is not the common title for Jesus. When it is used in referance to Jesus, it is nearly always by His disciples. Only once is it used by the "people" and that is following a feeding (miracle) More commonly, Christ was referred to by the more general didaskalos: master. So to say that he was generally accepted as a rabbi is not necessarily true.

Skittles: Deal for you: I'll read Holy Blood Holy Grail if you read "The Canon of Scripture" by F.F. Bruce. We can read them at the same time and PM each other reviews. What do you say?

If I can get a copy, then sure.

Firstly, only if it was publicly known. Secondly, parts of the new testament and the psalms were left out, as mentioned, by leaders throughout the ages.

Yep I had to walk/wade at least 100 metres before it was deep enough to swim, it really is very shallow for a fair distance from the shore. I was struck at the time about how easy it would be to give the impression of walking on the water, especially to those sitting on the hillside.

The problem with this is that they (Christ and His disciples) were out in deep water. While Jesus was walking on the surface, Peter was told to come out of the boat too and immediately started to sink into the water (lack of faith). It is no surprise that man would try to explain away the miracles of God.

Explain these:

The Red Sea parts allowing the Israelites to cross to the other side.

Lazareth is raised from the dead. (after being dead for several days)

Shadrack Meshack and Obednigo survive the fiery furnace.

5,000 people are fed with only a couple loaves of bread and a fish.

Simple explanation: pure bullshit.

I went fishing and caught a 12" fish.

I went home and told everybody about a fish I caught that was as long as my arm.

My parents their their friends about a fish that I caught that was 3 feet long.

They told their son I caught 3 fish as tall as I am.

Their son went to school and told everybody I caught a world record breaking fish, and not just ONE...but 7 of them!

Ever heard the big fish story?
Most of this was word of mouth for a hundreds of years. Exaggerations are written down. Not to mention that metaphors and strange phrases from one generation lose there meaning during the next and become literal, or. "facts". Example: The first guy to report a UFO described as moving like a saucer across water, even though he didn't say they were circular, that's what everybody thinks UFOs look like nowadays. Same goes for Jesus, only with a lot more time.

Not to mention weird translations. That's a whole different story.

Someone mentioned that if Jesus was married then it would be recorded.
I don't know if he was or wasn't married, but I don't think they recorded everything Jesus did. That just an opinion I have about it.
