Actually, I was trying to think of a context in which a duke would be vulnerable and actually have a proper assassin after him. had he been at home in the manor, I am certain I could cook up a good tale of the butler thwarting his attempts with true butlerian grace, but it'd be a bit of a stretch from reality, more than I'd usually go.
