I was getting ready to go to school when I turned on the T.V. just in time to see the second tower collapse. It took me a minute to figure out what was going on, but once I did I was in a bit of shock.

I got to school and found out that we weren't going to be doing anything. They let us go home early if we wanted, and had a T.V. in each classroom covering different channels of the news coverage.

It was an interesting day to say the least. My father was at a Geoscience Convention in San Antonio and they had a massive lockdown.

Bad day for sure.

7th grade, we didn't know what was going on until I went to one of my classes where the news was usually on, which was my first class of the day. When I saw that the first building was in flames, I was stunned, thinking like everyone else had that it was a horrible accident. Then the 2nd plane hit and I knew someone was attacking (sorry xtra, but I have to put up with enough of that kind of crap over in Yahoo! Answers.) us. I was enraged, but still stunned, then we learned that the Pentagon had also been attacked. The teachers tried to teach us, but they couldn't really take their attention off of it either. When we found out that it was terrorists, I honestly felt the urge (and still do today at some points) to wipe out the terrorists.

6th grade

I was a little late to class and when I came in the tv was turned on, I thought it was just a building fire. it was already after the second plane crashed but before the whole thing collapsed. The announcements came on and told us to "take a moment of silence"... I still didn't think much of it til I came home and was told what really happened.

I was in 9th grade, French class when I first heard about it. I remember telling one of my friends who has always been very politically minded (student government, very up to date on world issues, etc). He was panicking and asking me many questions that I could not answer but he was the first to really expose me to the scope of what had happened. I don't remember ever feeling scared because I figured it was over by the time I heard about it, but I did feel very shocked for a while after, as I'm sure most people did.

May all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

I had taken my wife to work and returned home lounging on the couch. Phone rings wife asks, "are you watching T.V. ?" I tell her I wasn't she states, "A plane hit one of those big buildings in New York, world trade center or something."

Hmm, I better take a look, I figure it's probably someone thinking thier small airplane turns sharper then it can.

I spent the rest of the day watching in disbelief as it unfolded waiting for it to escalate, fortunatly I was wrong on them having the resources or desire to make it wider spread.

I'm not buying the conspiracy theories but must wonder, if it was just crazies with box cutters why didn't they do any in the rest of the country?

Of all the rest of the planes airborne at the time, that were then grounded immeadietly, not a single other crazy with a box cutter was found, seems strange.

I suppose they only had two pilots but that also seems odd, to get those things on edge and hit the buildings sounds more difficult then the kind of thing a guy with the limited cessna time that was reportedly held by them could pull off.

Hollywood magic!

It's also quite amazing that during 7/7, bomb disposal experts just happened to be carrying out a 'classified' military excercise on same the day!

The timing boggles the mind.

I wonder why the government hasn't launched an official investigation into the 7/7 bombings? It seems like a logical thing to do really....oh wait, maybe not, as it would expose the government as killing it's own citizens, in an organised attempt to gather support for the 'war on terror'.

Well bugger me with a bowling ball.....the labour party are gonna kill me!

They've lost my vote.

I was not going to reply to any of the conspiracists and let this thread just be about people memories and respecting the deceased, but that is crap Norse. There have been 5 parliamentary inquiries into 7/7, having another inquiry would just be a waste of taxpayers money and a waste of time, and conspiracists like you would then just ignore the new inquest as political propaganda.

On the day, I was in year 8, and got home at about 5pm, after hanging out with my friends after school. I think the first tower fell almost exactly the same time I walked into my front room, and I remember the first words the ABC commentator (BBC was using ABC's coverage) said "The building has collapsed" "One side of it" "No, the whole building has collapsed, the whole building" I dont think thats the exact words they said, but it was something very similar, still chilling to think of to this day.

My next door neighbor died in the collapse of the towers on 9/11, my former next door neighbor survived from the nearby Deutsche Bank. That day was a wake up call to many, and many were caught sleeping. But in the many years I have completely forgiven and mostly forgotten the total lack of reaction and caring from my local parish’s pastoral assistant. (Being 70 miles from Manhattan you would think she would know we had a lot of parishioners who commute to the city and that there would be a good chance that most of the parishioners might know some of the people who were missing and assumed dead.)

Titanic, please to not suck governmental eggs.

I'm not going to spoon feed you. If you have 35 minutes spare, I suggest you watch this.

This is very, very convincing. If you do not care to watch this, I will assume that you are content to remain ignorant.

I was in 2nd grade. The principal came onto the loudspeaker, and talked about what happened. At the time I had no idea what was happening, or what everyone was talking about.

To Norse: I respect your beliefs, and you can think what you want, but peple died, and no matter if it was a terrorist act, or a goverment plot, they still died.

Exactly, if you want to discuss 9/11 conspiracy theories, start a thread about them. This isn't it.

EDIT: High School. I was in Chemistry class, the teacher had the news on just after the first plane had hit. An announcement was given to the teachers to shut off the TVs and not tell the kids anything about it, since they didn't want a panic. Of course we didn't listen.

blah blah blah, nobody gives a f*ck where or what you were doing.

This is the respect you demand???

the fact that you were in chemistry class popping a zit?

I had worked late the night before, so my mom woke me up when it happened. I didn't understand really what was going on until a little bit later, but I still remember watching the 2nd plane hit, and the tower collapse. My dad was going to the Army war college in carlisle PA at the time, and the base went into total lockdown, we couldnt even go off base for that entire day. When we heard about the other plane that had crashed in PA, we were pretty sure it had been headed for the war college.

I was lucky enough to not have any relatives or anyone I know die, and I wish peace for those who did.

CREDIBLE SOURCES SUCH AS NEW YORK FIREFIGHTERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Firefighters, law enforcement officers, and other extremely credible witnesses have also discredited the Administration's version of why the world trade center buildings collapsed on 9/11:

Reporter for USA Today stated that the FBI believed that bombs in the buildings brought the buildings down

NY Fire Department Chief of Safety stated there were "bombs" and "secondary devices", which caused the explosions in the buildings (video); or high-quality audio here

NYC firefighters who witnessed attacks stated that it looked like there were bombs in the buildings

NYC firefighter stated "On the last trip up a bomb went off. We think there was bombs set in the building"

NYC firefighter stated there was a "bomb in the building ... start clearing out"
