Obviously, you didn't read my testimony in previous threads.

I did but not much of it relied on non-biblical accounts. Besides, you seem to reject the gnostic tales, which are equally valid.

:?:

He means you haven't read his story about how he became a Christian, a story which, if I remember right, is not described in the Bible.

Well UR, I don't know why talking about Nichelle Nichol's brother was so offensive but apparently it set you off. Sorry for whatever it was within that post that you took umbrage to.

Yeah, sad isnt it? Everyone worships this guy who died so long ago and no one has ever met him and he lives on in a book... Notice though not many people talk about AFTER the "miracle" happened... I mean no one talks about if he had children and such.. Was he married to mary? Or was she just a friend? ect.. so many questions un answered in the book.. Jewish men can only grow beards after they are married right? Didnt he have a beard?

How can anyone know what Jesus looked like? No portrait, if there even was one in the first place, wouldn't of existed to of now.

Not sure what you have been reading, but he never wedded, after which miracle? there were many. He died, yes, then 3 days later, on Easter Sunday, he rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.

What I'm saying is notice how hes barely mentioned AFTER he comes back to life.. My brothers theory is the most logical theory I've EVER heard in my life and no one ever mentions that theory..

What if they just made him heavily bleed and it looked like he was dead and so they let him off thinking he was and he was just in a coma? Did anyone EVER consider maybe he was just one of the first to come back from a coma like state?

It's also worth noting that Jesus is the only person to ever come back from the dead and not scare the living shit out of the general populace.

Everyone else, "AHHHH, HE'S BACK FROM THE DEAD! RUN!"

Jesus, "Ah... Oh, it's Jesus! You got some shit on you man, probably wanna clean yourself off."

He shrugs, 'Not that it's important but I was DEAD! I'M IN A FUCKING GRAVE, OUTSIDE OF TOWN. I'M FIGHTING DEATH, HELL, DECOMPOSURE! I SHIFT INTO SPIRITUAL FORM, GET TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, THEN I THINK 'WAIT, I GOTTA GO BACK BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHERE I'VE BEEN!'

Do you know how unusual it would have been for somebody of Jesus supposed age not to have been married, as for the Virgin birth well really ! The fact is that everything you think you know about Jesus is based on 4 gospels that were written long after his death by people that did not know him in all probability. There are no original manuscripts so we have no idea if even these accredited gospels were altered or mistranslated and 10 times as many gospels were probably supressed because they contradicted the agreed line. Now your faith is your own business but the bible is not a sound historical document by a very long shot and it is folly to think it is.

what amazes me is how you could be so cold as to find that funny, i mean really, someone insults something which is a deeply held belief of someone else, in the name of being flippant, and you find that funny? wow man, thats pretty sad if you derive such entertainment at the expense of others. I dont really find it offensive though, just that you should know you do hurt people with this kind of thing.
Having said that i do find certain japanese gameshows funny so i guess i derive entertainment at other peoples pain as well. oh well. :?

THANK YOU! This has been my point all along.. Its a book.. you can enjoy reading the book all you want but unless you knew the man how do you know it wasn't just sci-fi? We have no proof about most these events and the fact that people fight over this is dumb! (Its just a book till proven to me otherwise!)

well you seem so very sure that you know exactly whats going on, not that theres anything wrong with that but you seem to be suggesting its quite silly to believe that something a book says is true, you also seem to be suggesting that we all believe in Christ just because we were told to or we read that we have to, that couldn't be further from the truth. since you've already made up your mind that you will not believe unless you see proof, i guess there is nothing any of us can say to prove God or Christ to you, though i find it odd that you can make lots of theories up about other possibilities like Jesus being married without proof of them either.

really? i mean i'm thinking you know just how offensive what you guys are saying can be, so whats the entertainment factor like? is it like a feeling of superiority? or is it like watching anchorman, or is it like watching a dude get hit by a football in the crotch? just wondering, i'm trying to get a handle on your motives here.

I think Jehan's signature is quite polite in it's expression of his belief system.

A few comments in this thread, however, were not so polite.

I hope some would attest that I enjoy polite discussion of religion very much. I really do hate it when it descends to this level of disrespect.

Thats only one comment and in all honesty if one wears ones faith on ones sleeve,so to speak, then they must expect a certain amount of ribbing. Im sorry but it strikes me as absurd to announce that one is proud of ones beliefs, just as I find it absurd when people say they are proud of their sexual orientation or proud of their gender or skin colour.
Surely pride is about achievement and how is that relevant to how one was born or what one believes, should I be proud because I dont believe in God or dont eat fish ?

well if you truly understood where we were coming from you would understand that we advertise our beliefs because we really believe that Jesus is the hope of the world, not that we think it makes us better then anyone at all, if it does seem like that then i apologise. We want people to find Christ man, i mean if you think the easter bunny can save your soul for all eternity then i would see absolutely no problem in you making crazy flashing sig that creates awareness of the easter bunny, and i wouldn't go out of my way to disparage your belief in a way that shows no regard for what you hold dear.

Why on earth would you be offended when someone openly states that he himself is proud to follow Christ? How is this possibly offensive to you? He is not attacking you in any way and he is not forcing you to do anything. He is simply stating his own beliefs. Maybe your ignorant and selfish comments are offensive to him. Did you ever think of that?
