You have to figure that there are 2080 work hours in a year. 52 weeks/year * 40 hours/week = 2080 hours/year. So your $10.00 and hour is roughly equal to about 20,800 a year. Which is a decent wage in some parts of the country and less than starvation wage in others.

My 35,000 is roughly equal to 16.83 per hour. Like I said that is a very good wage for someone right out of college.

since I just started basically accounts payable. but when I grow up in the company they will give me more responsibility. I deal with the invoices that the company receives, I prepare them to make them ready for payment.

I realize that companies go to extreme lengths to keep quality employees, but I think yours has taken it to the next level. Why would anyone quit that job. Heck, why would anyone retire!

I used to work for a PR firm that had Beer O'Clock Fridays. About, 3 or so, an intern would make a beer run, and we could all kick off the weekend early if we chose. At four, we'd have a company wide meeting, and everyone would have a Heineken. (that was the boss's favorite)
