As usual, JimB is WRONG about me AND many OTHER things. I am FULLY aware of my limitations and how my EGO can get too big. God has a way to humble me and keep me from becoming too egotistical. (It seems Trump did not get that message during much of his life, I will admit.)

You talked earlier, about a week or two ago, about being in a family of "Know it ALLs." In my family I am not even the smartest. One of my brothers is an engineer and I KNEW while I was in COLLEGE (if not sooner) that he is smarter than me. I also have a brother who has an MBA (and teaches adjunct at a University). Another brother is a doctor. My brothers know so much about their respective fields that I know to go to them FOR ADVICE.

Then I got married, and over time, learned about one of my wife's brothers who is smarter than anyone in my family. And he is so humble, that most who encounter him in a casual scenario would NEVER suspect how intelligent he is. And she has other two brothers who have good common sense, good people skills, AND are incredible with their hands, fixing and building things. And both work as firefighters and have medical training and knowledge. I got NONE of those skills with my hands. I hope that I have become better with people skills as I work with MANY people in my long career. And my wife is so wonderful and has so many abilities of organization, finance, and kindness and people skills. She is a wonderful individual and I am glad that she is my wife.

The more I learn, the more I learn how little I really know. What is important here is that:
1) you do not KNOW really anything about me;
2) what you think you know is nearly always FLAT WRONG;
3) that I know that I have limitations;
4) that as a scientist and life-long learner, I am willing to learn;
6) that I keep an open mind (DO YOU JimB? it does not appear so);
7) that I have strong bedrock values of religion, patriotism, love of family, and Love and fear of my Lord.
8 ) From my religious learning, I have a strong sense of ethics and morality.
9) I even took a course in Ethics. Of course I ACED it. (Yeah go ahead and think that is egotism; NO, it is FACT.)
10) I respect those who can support their assumptions and evaluations with reliable sources and LOGIC. Duk does; so does Mookie. You do rarely, JimB, and pee rat almost NEVER does.

JimB, your shallow, perfunctory, scrofulous, and hate- (or at best, contempt) filled attempted analysis of me deserved a detailed and in-depth response to demonstrate how wrong you are. PERIOD.

Learning how to love yourself can be pretty f*cking hard.

I’m going to be realistic here.

While many articles, books, speakers, and spiritual teachers paint an ethereal glow around self-love … beginning to even get to a space where you’re ready to “love yourself” often happens after a ton of gritty inner work and soul-searching.

I prefer to follow the Words of the Lord:

The most well-known verse about loving one's neighbor is from Matthew 22:39: "And the second is like unto it, 'Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself'”. It is referring to the Book of Mark 12:28-31 in the Bible which includes: Love your neighbor as yourself.

And maybe you’ve wondered: How is that even possible? Could anyone actually do that? Is it really just that simple, like that “Love God, Love people” slogan some people use?

Here’s what I have learned: First, you must learn to receive God’s love for yourself. Until then, you can’t truly love anyone else. You may do all the right things, but your motivation will be all wrong. God isn’t nearly as concerned about what we do as He is about the attitudes of our hearts (Read 1 Thessalonians 2:4).
