Woooohooo, Lunsi. Come on everybody - Cubs Fever. Can you feel it!

I would like to point out in this picture that he was not the only one going for the ball, just the unlucky one to come down with it

and secondly if the Cubs were good that year, they wouldn't have let a foul ball ruin their season
hey dont talk about that year ok. It is in our past.

Yeah I appreciate the thought, Dwight...but it just seems like stuff "happens" whenever they get close to returning to the big show. The reason beezer posted that picture of Leon Durham is because he's the guy who let the ball go through his legs at first base in the '84 NLCS against the Padres. I was in high school then and was heartbroken. When the Bartman incident happened I started to think maybe there is something to the curse theory. ](*,)

Yeah I admit to it. Growing up in Indiana we had no professional teams except for the Pacers in the NBA. You're kind of forced to choose teams from either Cincinnati or Chicago. I like the Bears & the Cubs. I guess my second favorite teams would be the Bengals & the Reds.

But under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will I ever root for Cleveland, despite what Red Bull might say.
well a fellow Cub fan, i live in the city now and can walk to Wrigley. So i am a huge fan. I think they can take over the Brewers and possibly make the playoffs.

Fircoal If you are a fan of the A's, I would suggest reading the book MoneyBall: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, by Michael Lewis. Its probably my favorite book ever - Ive read it at least 6 times. Its really funny and interesting. Its all about the Oakland Athletics and their GM Billy Beane in the late 1990s- early 2000s.

Yeah, as far as the AL last player thingie - it's gotta be Okajima (Okinawa's an island, Gold Knight. :? ) He's been lights out in an aging bullpen, really one of the two relievers we can trust (the other being the Papel-bot, obviously).
And it's too bad we couldn't get Manny the start in the OF, though the AL is stacked this year. Calling a win for the AL... 11-5.

I'm just joking around with him, Fircoal. My dad grew up in Ohio and I was forced to experience much of Dayton due to that. I know a little bit about Ohio and that's why I give the Bull such a bad time of it.

I grew up in Indiana so it's not that much different except we have better corn.

My bad, i just took my Japanese Exam a few weeks ago and got it on the mind  . okinawa is also an awesome Chinese restaurant near me as well...

But back on subject, "Okajima" is by far the best choice for the last player in because no pitcher can pitch a lights out inning like him. Its gotta be the energy necklace! :D

Okajima got the last spot! I couldn't be more happy. There was no other choice (perhaps bonderman, ehh, maybe) that would have been as good as okajima.

Now, the red sox have 6 members of their team attending the all-star game.
