I swear to God, the misconceptions non gun owners and gun haters have about guns is mind boggling.

A well made well designed firearm is as close to the perfect machine as human beings are capable of creating. A gun has to be that close to perfection because otherwise you'll die when it fails on you at the worst possible time.

Guns are like anything else, just tools. Guns have taken lives and saved lives. Some people have no idea how to use tools. For instance, I wouldn't trust Bernie to use a hammer correctly. At best he'd smash is own finger (which would be hilarious) and at worst put a hole in a wall because based on his knowledge probably wouldn't know how to swing one correctly and is likely unable to even learn how to use one.

People like Bernie probably cower in fear every time they see or think about a gun like it might suddenly rise up and bite him like a snake.

Fearful fucks. Grow some balls why don't ya! I dare anyone to go to a gun range, get your hands on a a gun, any gun, and fire a few rounds downrange. I bet a nickel to a doughnut when you fire that last round from the magazine you'll have a big shit eating grin on your face. It happens to everyone. Especially noobs who haven't the faintest idea of what it's like to fire a gun. It's cathartic.

Just because evil fucks pick up these tools and use them to perform acts of pure evil is no reason to deny the vast majority of legal, responsible people from the opportunity to possess, learn to use and have a tool that could well save their very lives one day.


There is more to this story than we are being allowed to know. They keep saying they have no idea about the guy's motives. I bet if they read the note he left behind it might give an idea, here is a picture of it-

How can anyone say "I love it." ? You never do something like this, "just to do it." Reality is not a song about sitting in jail listening to the train.

If betiko was one of those you describe as "know it alls", he would be speculating the motive, instead of asking questions and rationalizing that the shooter was obviously mentally broken.

Anything put forth as a motive is an excuse, there can be no "motive" for this.

You are right to speculate the guy may have been unable to explain why himself. He obviosly realized he shouldn't have been allowed to do it since he self terminated. That is a sign that his "motive" was flawed if he was initially thinking he had one.

Isis trying to claim this would be laughable, except their motive is to make us afraid. I agree we should not fear that but it is better than allowing ourselves to step toward them as this shooter did.

I won't say the people who want to try to take away guns are wrong, because even if that is somewhat true, because taking away guns from those that are not going to do this sort of thing, is not going to fix the problem, at least it is a type of a rational human response. Though it is a bit more emotionally based than logical, to be cold emotionally about the victims * is not healthy.




* Many people including normal folks who were not even there, who have a healthy capacity for empathy, are victims of this crime.





Anyone that thinks there is anything good about this, should ask them self, "How can I think that?" because there is nothing good about it.

The great things such as people helping others to get out of the area wether they ran or stayed in harms way are not part of it. Those things are seperate and in response to the crime. That is a just the proper human response to this rehensible act. To panic and be unable to stand up to the bullets is less desirable, but is still a correct response. It's bullets, even in battle bullets cause fear.

It's just wrong on every level of everything to be shooting innocent people, even ones that don't like the same things as you. This was not a movie or a comic book.
