I'm not really sure why everybody appears to be on the struggle bus here given that Simmery says it's no big deal about the poll, he's willing to look past it because he's the bigger boy.

I just finished a heated debate with him about his disbelief in the Holocaust and even though we don't agree I still respect him as wrong as he may be.

I don't see why Paralympians should be less worthy of attention than Olympians. Hell, even in mythology the Greeks had gods with disabilities- Hephaestus, say.

Does CC have to recognise Paralympians? No, of course not. Your argument is a strawman, set up so you could knock it down.

Should CC be a place where people who were born differently abled,; who served and were injured; or who suffered injury or illness, but nevertheless became world-class athletes competing for the highest honours in their field be acknowledged?

That is a question worth setting to the community.

I'm not sure how talking about 100℅ control of a non-event is an offer equivalent to a team of experienced people dedicated to an event. Doesn't seem like a genuine offer to me. More like a way of saying- "We're gonna ignore it- if you want to complain, screw it, they're just second-class"

If the issue is that you don't know my agenda, there's a simple solution to tha-t employ Occam's razor. The simplest solution is often the best, after all. I don't have one. There's no big plan.

For people with disabilities, I think that there should be a better degree of recognition about what people can do. I think you're aware that I taught disabled students, and I tutor disabled people now. It's always been about what you're able to achieve for me.

The offer for you to host the event is 100% genuine. If you read the forums you would know that 2 of my 7 children are disabled and now my wife is also severely disabled due to an operation on her brain last year that went horribly wrong. I am now left caring for them so do not have the time to run the event. You on the other hand appear to have more than enough time. What you say Sym?
