But it's pretty clear that you imagined that Spamalot as a collective was frustrated by the 'longest thread', and had a desire to become longer than it as soon as possible.
If that doesn't make it our 'goal', then I'll have to leave you with a dictionary. On the other hand, if you're a sane human being, then you'll stop being so obstinate, and admit that you imagined, and indicated in the quoted post, that exceeding the length of the 'longest thread' was our 'goal' (aim, objective, target, raison d'etre, motive, desire, etc).
