Sorry about the delay. Dont you just hate it when this IRL stuff has to get you away from the computer.

Dunno to much about ww2, but this is an interesting sidenote. Which is the only country who have repaid its war debt from ww1 and ww2?

Well, not Britain, because they just repaid their WWII debt to America a few months ago - it was in the news and everything. But the WWI debt apparently is still outstanding, and has never been repaid at all.

EDIT: I'll guess Finland, because you're from there. Except was Finland an independent country in WWI?

Finland fought an excellent campaign against the might of the soviet union, they ultimately were defeated but caused massive casualties (and humiliation) to the Red army. I believe the sanction for this action was part of the pact Germany made with the USSR over the partition of Poland.

Yup Finland it was. And Finland became an independent country in 1917, just in time to start paying :D

if maybe the Weimar Republic had been using better policies the Nazi Party would still have existed, but it wouldn't have come to power so quickly..or maybe not at all.

The Weimar Republic was not terribly ill-conceived (although the sheer number of parties did make coalition governance difficult), it was more the devestated economy from WW1 and Versailles (and a global depression, on top of that) that really did it in.

Gerrinthere! Oh, and I checked up on Finland after I typed that. I knew they separated from Russia at some point, I just wasn't sure if it was during or long after the Russian Revolution. Finland has a really interesting post-WWI history.

Anyway, here's another. I think this may come as a surprise to some, but maybe not:

Which South American country had a 25,000-strong force fighting on the Allied side in the Italian campaign?

I qualified my surprise remark with a "maybe not", because I like to cover my arse that way. :P

Anyway, I think a lot of people believe that South America was more or less neutral in WWII. I know I was surprised to find Brazil ever had any troops in Europe when I read about it a few years ago - though I only found out it was 25,000 troops when I looked it up today. The book where I'd originally read about it said it was more like 300.

Umm..... Umm... Ummm... It's probably really obvious. But I'm wondering if it's in the Pacific or in Europe..

Germany was 1939, Japan was before 1939.

My stab in the dark, without Googling - I'm guessing it'll be two countries bordering (or nearly bordering) the USSR in Europe, which Germany would have forced in because they were desperate for troops.

Romania and Hungary?
