actually I just thought of the ultimate combination: Novacaine (sp?) and ANYTHING! just numb yourself and nothing would hurt: the chair, the rope, a giant boulder, lethal injection...

Very true I like that but imagine how much novicain you would have to pump into some one

That's because they are not waiting long enough for the sleep medicine to take effect before giving them the killing dose...

A person just died by lethal injection and people are saying it is cruel and unusual because he 'looked to be in pain'

Well, I'm pretty sure any death throws would look awful, but that doesn't mean they can FEEL anything

Anyway, who gives a f*ck? They deserve to die...

Give them to me, I'll do it... .22 bullet behind the ear, that's all it takes.

Whether you agree with capitol punishment or not...done correctly, lethal injection is painless.

This is how it works in the USA:

Three injections.

#1 - Sodium thiopental: to induce a state of unconsciousness intended to last while the other two injections take effect. This drug used to be used for general anesthesia and when a "medically induced coma" was necessary.

#2 - Pancuronium/Tubocurarine: to stop all muscle movement except the heart. This causes muscle paralysis, collapse of the diaphragm, and would eventually cause death by asphyxiation.

#3 - Potassium chloride: to stop the heart from beating, and thus cause death. ie: Cardiac Arrest.

As you can see, when done correctly the person is essentially comatose and unable to feel pain.

static_ice wrote:(but then again, how would we know?

We know this because the first drug was used for years in countless surgeries, and nobody woke up screaming from being operated on. While the body may convulse from the 2nd and 3rd injections, they don't feel a thing.

In the United States, nearly all executions are by lethal injection. Lethal injection has recently come under lots of criticism because it truly does seem to be an unnecessarily cruel and painful way to die. Most doctors refuse to participate in state executions, so usually the administrators of the injection are medically untrained. Lethal injection usually takes many minutes, and often more than half an hour to work. The most gruesome case is of a man, after writhing in pain for dozens of minutes, emphatically telling the administrators, "It's not working!"

The majority of countries that have state executions use hanging. Saudi Arabia is the last country that actively executes multiple persons a year to use beheading as the form of murder.

I chose the firing squad cause it's quick and relativly painless. You stand there with you eys closed and 10 people shoot you in the head. Hanging, you suffocate if you neck doesn't break, gas chamber, you just suffocate, and btownmeggy explained lethal injection, with the electric chair, you have thousands of volts coursing through your body for sometimes quiet a while to make sure you dead.
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

wow this stuff is scary... what if during the group shower I just tell Jamal and Jesus (Heyzoos) that I'm gay, that way they just slit my throat with that knife they've been hiding up they're sleeve, that's just so much faster

If you told them you were gay, you'd have a different type of lethal injection to worry about

Wrong, bro..

Only one person has a real bullet, the rest are blanks... This is so no one has to feel guilty about offing your ass.

That's why I mentioned that if the one bullet does not hit you dead center in the heart, you are gonna be in a world of hurt.

Actually...I can tell you!

I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed when I was 18. It was done in a surgical center and I was knocked out with Sodium Pentathol...essentially the same drug. I felt nothing during the procedure.

They could have chopped off my arm, or stopped my heart and I would never have known it.

Oh yeah, well me and my friends decided that we were all gonna stop our hearts and see how far on the other side we could go before we were brought back to life by the rest of the group in an old creepy church...

Wait...

That was Flatliners...
