If you gave sensible reasons, they must have been in white text, right at the bottom of a nonrelated thread, because after 2 re-readings I still can't find them.
I've been asking this all thread, but I think i'll ask it again.
Why?
I must have asked this question a good 10 or so times. And yet in almost every single one, I have been met with "I already posted them". In the few where actual reasos were posted, they consisted of things which were clearly not unique to America. What do you possibly gain from pulling an Xtra and just saying 're-read' every time someone questions you? Hell, just violate most gramatical laws and post your reason/s in a 3-4 word, adjective and noun only sentence. I'm sure it will use up a whole 10-15 seconds of your precious, precious time.

luns101 wrote:I guess I could post it all over again...so you could just dismiss it all over again. Round and round we go, so what point would there be in pursuing that.
Actually, the main reason the thread stretched on with no real movement was that a good third of everything I posted remained unresponded too. I would post something, it would be ignored. Then, a page or so later, the same argument that I had orginally rebutted would be mentioned again, but this time treated as though I had ever failed ro rebutt it.
This merry cycle repeated time and time again throughout the thread.

And you view it through the lens of God's-gift-to-the-universe. Please, no double standards.
luns101 wrote: So go ahead and tell yourself that you won some type of victory.
Ha! You seriously believe that I was after victory in that thread!
Even ignoring the fact I posted many times that I was just using the thread as a mildly entertaining distraction,do you actually believe that if I were after victory, I would use arguments as crappy as the ones I used initially for the opening? If I wanted victory, I could easily have spent a few more hours looking up facts and information and posted fully formed arguments, thus avoiding the need to furiously backpedel.

Who?
luns101 wrote:Of course, the bias against the US is such here at CC that when someone like myself says something like I did, it is misinterpreted as "we think we're superior to everyone else". What I said was highly subjective and only meant as expressing patriotism. If someone from France, Australia, or the UK said that I wouldn't throw the hissy-fit that was expressed in that thread. It's merely someone expressing patriotic feelings.
Ok, although I dislike the use of those Slippery Slope type things (absolute mind blank at the moment) this really is exceptional. Although Patriotism itself isn't directly harmful, it can easily turn into things that are. Without warning, Patriotism can easily turn into the view that your nation is the best and should show this by conquering all other nations. From there you can quite easily branch out into My-Ethnic-group-is-the-best and My-Religion-is-the-best. Thus, from simple patriotism you get war, religous wars and Ethnic Cleansing.
This has happened hundreds if not thousands of times throught history. Please, for your future credibility, don't be naive and try to claim that America is somehow immune to this pitfall.
In America, I am sure there are thousands upon thousands of people who think that America is superior and is in fact, so superior that it should subjugate all other countries through force. And guess what; the number of these Imperialists is growing every day. This is almost totally because Patriotism is actively encouraged in America. Hell, even ignoring what Patriotism can turn into, it most certainly limits choices. One politician is dubbed the "Patriotic" one and so voting for or supporting anyone else is automatically seen as 'Unpatriotic" You're not a 'true American' if you're not Patriotic
Suprisingly enough, it is actually possible to be proud of your country (though it is still stupid; Pride-through-Assosiation has got to be one of the most pointless types of pride) without being Patriotic, nor going to anywhere near the lengths you do. Australians do it easily.
End Transmission
PS. I would have to say I am extremly suprised that the first 6 pages of that thread haven't colapsed due to it's own self-gravity, because of the sheer concentrated stupidity exhibited there.
Although stupidity is present everywhere, in threads of all shapes and sizes, the concentration and purity of these stupidity-samples is just extraordinary.

Its because in just over 200 years, America has become the most prosperous & powerful nation on earth. The Euros had an additional 1000+ years to accomplish what America has and failed.
This one isn't on topic, but it is still really, really stupid.
