The bullshit that is JSA has nothing to do with immigrants. The UK wouldn't exist without immigrants, much like many other countries. To complain about them is hypocritical.

Ok caffeine so the influx of portugese was taken, then the influx of polish was a hard hit. Then the romanians even harder. Now what are we looking at a invasion of turkish, britain as a whole cannot cope with it all.

Lol give u a laugh the other night. Working security in a supermarket barred polish person trys to enter refused entry (barred because he walks in lifts lager and walks out saying f*ck u english.) this guys comes back 2 hours later saying f*ck you english i can enter f*ck you i am coming in. Couple of english customers tell him to shut up. He hits them with a barrage of abuse gets knocked out, now because he is polish the others a facing a racial attack.

Point being why come here just to slag the country off. The bad ones are giving the good ones a bad rep. But these country's wont let us crime check them before entry. Same as we have a watch list for the organised shoplofters in our area.
1 are brittish 2 are polish 4 are romanian.

You lot will be sued over having a shoplifters list.

I live in the midlands, there is so much room for more people. Though really important as Turkey wont be allowed yo join the EU anytime soon. That story was run by the Sun and even Farage wouldnt acknowledge it.

Well, if a Danish king once built a building in the UK then I guess I am totally incorrect!

http://www.migrationwatchuk.org/briefin ... ocument/48

There have always been episodes of migration to Britain but, as this paper demonstrates, those episodes were small and demographically insignificant until the Second World War. A study of official census records from 1851 until the present shows that the number of people born abroad living in Britain was very small until the middle of the twentieth century and that the growth of this population between censuses was quite slow.

Relevant part highlighted. The study shows that Britain's demographics were very stable for approximately one century, from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. True enough, that is. Actually, in fairness, I'll grant you about two and a half centuries -- from about the beginning of the 18th century to the mid-20th. I think everyone will agree that in Britain's 700,000 year history, 250 years is pretty small potatoes. Even if you only count the 1,000 years of well-documented British history, 250 is only a quarter, definitely not typical.

Caff was talking about 'the UK', i.e. the nation state. The UK is only about 300 years old still so, going by your own statements, that would mean that the UK was a very low immigration country all the way from its creation until the mid-20th century.

In the hundreds of years up until now, and all the societal and institutional development which took place in that time, the UK was a very homogeneous place. Recently that has changed quite sharply, and evidently for quite a lot of people that is something which they find unsettling.

In economic terms immigration is a good thing, and in societal terms I personally don't give a shit and like living in a city as diverse as London, but you can't just say 'oh well 1,000 years ago a load of French people moved to the UK' and act is if that's the end of it. Many of the people who complain can remember all the way back to when the UK was still a homogeneous place, and they have watched the country change enormously.

The old notion of the UK, and what 'the UK' is, is quite rapidly being overturned, but nothing has really been put in its place yet. It's not surprising that a lot of people, especially those whose personal circumstances (wealth, employment etc.) are insecure, find that disconcerting and cling on to the past.

Quite likely.

Still, as a maritime trading nation, Britain had multicultural influences even in the absence of immigration. There weren't many people from the Bengal living in Victorian England, but pictures of Indian elephants were everywhere. (just as a for-instance)

Being aware of the existence of a distant culture and borrowing some elements of it (such as a few dishes or ways of decorating) is not the same as having large numbers of people from that culture turn up on your doorstep and the society you live in changing dramatically as a result.

Again, I don't have any problem with that sort of diversity, but these are the reasons why a lot of people do.

Sorry your little butt got hurt but the UK is an independent woman, she don't need no EU holding her back.

Enjoy your socialist EUSSR empire with France and the Mediterranean leeching everyone else dry. Britain's off to the new world.

Clear favorite for the new prime minister of the UK is now Theresa May, who supported remaining in the EU.

How and when is the Establishment going to stick its oar in and renounce the outcome of the EU referendum?
