beezer wrote:But if there's no evidence that a gay gene makes people gay, then it would have to be a choice.
Not any more than Cancer is a choice simply because we haven't nailed it down yet.
beezer wrote: The burden of proof falls upon you to provide evidence of this gay gene since you're claiming they were born that way.
I have never claimed a gay gene exists. In fact I would bet that ONE gene for homosexuality most likely doesn't exist. There are over 60 genes associated with Diabetes alone for example. I do believe that the recipe will be figured out eventually and then it will quickly be denied and ignored by the religious.
beezer wrote:"Homosexuals have existed since time began." You're arguing from omniscience again, Backglass.
OK...Homosexuality is well documented throughout history.

beezer wrote:If you want to compare yourself to an animal with no rationality who is a helpless victim of his impulses be my guest but I will not be following you down that path.
Not surprising. After all it was your god who gave these animals "homosexual impulses" right?

beezer wrote:Obviously you can't handle people disagreeing with you.
Yup Thats me!

beezer wrote:No, the homosexual movement co-opted that term gay in the 1970's. Skip ahead to 2007?

Wow...you are very easily insulted. Try not to be so soft would ya?

Hey! I can do that too!

In 2002 34% of Heterosexual men claimed to have recently had heterosexual anal intercourse. The number has grown significantly in the past decade but it is thought that is because it is more accepted today and not as "taboo". Bet that pisses you off.

beezer wrote:Then show us the proof that a gay gene controls homosexuals. We're still waiting.
Well my dear friend beezer, I am not a scientist. But I can guarantee you that the scientific community is trying to decipher this puzzle along with hundreds of others. I believe we will have an answer in our lifetime.
Stay tuned.

beezer wrote:How can you sit on your high horse and honestly believe there's a mythical gay gene
I don't. You said that not me.

beezer wrote:Look, I would never condone a homosexual person being ridiculed or beaten up. That's just wrong. I'm not saying it's a simple choice, but they still choose to engage in it. OK, you want to call me asinine - fine.
OK. You're asinine.

Great! Please tell me what they said when you directly asked them "Did you CHOOSE to be a homosexual?".
beezer wrote:I see what you're doing. You're playing the old 'I've got gay friends & you don't - so I can speak with authority on the issue and you can't' card.
I see what your doing. You're playing the old "I take my directions from a mythical higher power who says these people are evil so I could care less what you think" card.
beezer wrote:I don't care if you have 1,000 homosexual friends & I have none [or vice versa]. You having more homosexual friends than me or me having more homosexual friends than you doesn't mean a thing.
Except that every one that I have talked to says the same thing....they didn't "choose to be gay", they just are. Do you believe these hundreds of thousands of people to just be in denial? Liars? Mass psychosis?
beezer wrote:I talk to my step-brother about it and he knows what I believe. He would hardly label me as intolerant or homophobic. He's part of our family.
I am sure that although he loves you, he says something completely different to his partner and gay friends. I am also sure you don't get up during christmas dinner and say to his face that his kind is evil, disgusting & vile and that he will die of AIDS. You save that venom for "the internets".

I am curious...does your step-brother bring his partner to christmas dinner with the family?
beezer wrote:Backglass and whoever else, it's easy for you guys to preach tolerance and 'let's be accepting of same-sex marriage'. When homosexuals contract AIDS and are dying because of their behavior.
I never see people like you coming around and helping in the hospices. Let's see you come out and show how tolerant you all are when homosexuals need you the most - when they're dying and need someone to tell them their still loved.
First, are you saying that being "accepting of same-sex marriage" is somehow increasing the AIDS problem? Please explain what you mean.
"People like me" huh. Nice.

How silly of me. Please...come back down to earth from your pedestal.
