Every team that England has played against has been like this. Tunisia, Colombia, Panama and to a lesser extent Belgium. It's fucking disgusting, but no secret that people are prejudiced against England in professional sports. Rugby is the same. I suppose the Colombian players might be more motivated since they've been shot and killed in the past when losing at a World Cup.

England win a penalty shoot out? Surely that means we win the World Cup now?!

Sweden are probably the worst team still in the World Cup. Croatia are the scariest right now. France would be if they started performing and you can expect Brazil to pull off something at any given time, but Mexico are looking like contenders as well. It's the Rakitic Modric combo man. I don't think any team in the world has a better central mid pairing.

Excellent. We have an omniscient narrator. Now you can tell us how other individual people were thinking, feeling and what their goals are in life.

Weird post, even for you DY. England winning a game on a penalty shoot out, that's like a curse being broken. It was joyous to behold.

You claimed knowledge of events in "every pub in England". Only an omniscient narrator can do that.

I actually did think about mentioning Belgium too but truth be told, I couldn't be bothered typing anything else. It would've just turned into talking about every single team.

Or an unreliable one, or someone who isn't a narrator. Live a little, DY...

France 2-0 over Uruguay.

Great Goal keeping by France, NOT so good for Uruguay. That was the difference I saw in that game.

Ha loved that song reminds me of the euro 96.

Anyways, England has done the job winning in penaltys. Pretty sure they will lose tomorrow against sweden though.
Semis france-belgium and croatia-sweden.

A real coin toss between france and belgium, but we've got more experience after losing the euro 16 final 2 years ago, we'll see.

I have to say that the final that sounds the best is a France-England. That would be the shit.

You seriously think Sweden will beat England? They're the weakest remaining team with no attacking force.

Yes, i seriously think you'll get wacked tomorrow. You seem to forget how they got there in the first place and that england hasn't done anything special. All I see are the tottenham players, the others are just doing jack shit, and they probably think like you... that sweden is just a mat they will scrap their shoes on and they are already thinking about croatia.

Just go tell that to the netherlands, italy, germany or switzerland. I don't think that england is superior to any of these 4.

My money is definitely on sweden, i haven't looked at the bookies but there is cash to be made there.

Sweden are always a solid team and have given England difficulty in the past, but they don't have any goal threat. No Ibrahimovic, no Larsson etc. They can hold their own in a game but they aint scoring goals. Germany came bottom of their group and still beat Sweden.

I do agree that most of the best performing players for England are at Tottenham. Kane, Trippier etc. I think as a team England are very hard to place accurately right now. They're a young squad and Southgate is promising in my opinion. He coached a lot of these guys at u21 and you can tell the mentality of the squad as a whole is on a different level to previous teams. I'm just glad to see a manager who wasn't an idiot like all the people who tried to put the biggest names into the squad like Gerrard, Lampard etc. instead of just building a team around Man Utd which they should've done back then.

Either way I'm excited.
