The only problem I remember is that like most of the end time things it sounds like everythings going to go down in the next couple of weeks.
Interesting thing about the whole end times concept is that it is something that the followers of Jesus have allways expected in thier own life time. I don't know why but Jesus talked about it that way right to his disciples. Maybe some of it is the way things translate to modern language.
If you read the bible it seems like the things leading to his return are going to happen very soon.
Some things Jesus said even seem very clear that they were going to happen in the person he was speaking to's life time. I don't know what his purpose was in telling it like that but he must have had a reason.
Specifically these.I don't know maybe the greek word that they translate to 'generation' meant something to do with the church and not that generation the way I think of a generation. Like a 10 - 20 year span where everyone grows up in a certain era.(New American Standard Bible)

Luke 21:32 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.
One thing I find interesting is that people love to say "We're closer to the end than ever before." Chilling dude except...
As I like to remind them, "Tomorow we'll be one day closer than now."
Makes me wonder if the "rapture" thing happened then and we're the offspring of the guys left behind.

Ok obviously everything could go down tomorow and every day we're one day closer, but I'm thinking the book of Revelation might still be sealed.jay_a2j wrote:2dimes wrote:If you read the bible it seems like the things leading to his return are going to happen very soon.

Yeah, I read The Late Great Planet Earth in the late 80's. I've also read some of his newer books. His interpretation of Revelation has changed from then to now. The book of Revelation was sealed until the time of the end (so that it could not be understood until the end times were at hand).
There are also scriptures that puts us in the last days that could not fit any other time in history.
"The generation that sees the Jews gathered back to their homeland (Israel established in 1948) would be the generation that sees ALL these things come to pass"
It also talks about "The Army of the East" crossing the Euphrates River. Which would have been an impossible feat years ago but today there is a dam built on that river that can be used to dry up the river to allow it to be crossed.
I don't know how far off we are but within the next 50 years would be a good estimate. And I personally think we are much closer than that.

There's too much bickering about it. Caleb "comet hunter" the cruel and his friends with their interpretations for example.
I allready mentioned the "generation" thing above. I don't know if Isreal the country established fits that bill. I know there's a whole movement of christians that help fund "jewish" people in moving there to help the prophesy happen faster but I don't see the point. If it's supposed to happen it will people don't have to fund it.
I find that "army of the east" being China as plausable. That's one big group of people there.
I notice you missed the concept of world wide banking with a single number that wasn't possible until somewhat recently also.
..... gotta love it!Caleb "comet hunter" the cruel

Serbia, it's ok dude, anything I post is open for bashing. Thank you for watching my back though.Serbia wrote:Hey, when did the thread about WWIII become a Chistian-bashing thread? The guy has an opinion, let him have it!
Cool, I'll mark it on my calender and try to drop by if the nurses are ok with it unless I'm raptured. If that happens you're on your own. Muah ha ha ha.heavycola wrote:IT'S ALL BOLLOCKS. Jay you are talking nonsense.
The generation that saw 1948... so the youngest of them must be almost 60. I give you 30 years. Then i am going to come back to this forum and laugh.

Phase 4: India, threatened by China, declares War
Phase 5: America, England, and Israel fight all out war with Islamic controlled Europe and Arabia
Phase 6: America gets pissed off that China isnt doing anything in N.K., joins India, effectively joining both Wars
Side 1: America, England, Israel, India, American/British small country allies (South America, Japan, Canada, Austrailia, etc)
Side 2: Arabic Empire (Iran, Arabia, Europe), China, Random Asian Countries (N.K., Vietnam, etc.)
Influential Nuetral: Russia. Once agaim they will be the country that comes in and tips the scales

I really don't. If WWIII is coming then its coming. Let's not focus on the negative.
Personally, if WWIII is on its way, then let's party now. Let's drop all the petty nonsense and just embrace our fellow man. If we're all going to die, then let's at least die with some degree of happiness.

First up I wasn't Christian bashing, it was a joke... post-rapturites : post-raphaelites... Get it?
Secondly, you and Kokunai we're all over me shouting "off-topic poster" a few days ago for one errant post about oil, which really was in context of the thread anyway, so why are you not all over the last dozen posts which are nothing to do with WWIII?
