I didn't think I would be able to agree with anyone nor decide on anything for myself in this thread, but maybe you've convinced me with BRAZIL. BUT WHICH CUT?

The Battle of Algiers is also one of my all-time favs, but I don't know if I would call it one of the greatest films ever made.


There were two different endings right? The one I saw was not happy.

Also, I apparently saw the bad version of Blade Runner.

Not really arguing that any of these are the greatest, just the best that I've seen and can think of off the top of my head.

The Alamo (1960s version)
The Public Enemy (The infamous grapefruit scene is a classic)
Red Dawn (Wolverines!)
Stalag 17 (Spellbinding WWII Mystery)
Captain's Courageous (Someone said it already, but great film)
Tora! Tora! Tora! (My grandfather was in this one. ;))

Although i must say i enjoyed it 20 years or so ago, when i last watched it .... but i can't help thinking that it will not have faired well against the ravages of time ... has it?

Saw this the other night. Not too impressed. Nice atmosphere in the first two thirds, Will Smith was on good form... Crap ending. The original film version was better. They didn't develop the zombies at all, which was an avenue they could have explored to a much greater degree...
