check around asheville or boone, north carolina, homey. probably cheap, very nice lifestyle there, asheville has to be among the most liberal cities in the south. gorgeous appalachian views, tons of arts and culture, universities, ummm hippies w/ good weed if you like that.....also some hillbillies scattered here and there....

Hey, I resemble that remark.

Anyways, sounds like you were out in eastern PA. I'm in Pittsburgh, and although I might be a little biased for living here all my life, it's much nicer out here. Not as historic, but I like it better.

well i heard it was New Zealand, but hey 2dimes, Fiji is pretty good except they keep having coups, you could try Australia, Queensland is pretty sweet if your into great beaches and sunniness, plus your money will be worth more here. though I'm not sure about the bison, you could try having cows.

I spent 2 weeks in the Olympia jail in 68 - i was not impressed. Your jails suck. Seriously though, Washington and Oregon are both beautiful. Dark and mysterious woods, and the waters of Puget Sound are unparallelled. My favorite though, would have to be New Mexico, up around Taos. It truly is, as the license plates say "The Land of Enchantment". I am surprised though that no one has mentioned Altered or Catatonic.

New Mexico is awesome indeed. They also have sideways stop lights.

Hey Beastly, aren't you from Idaho Falls? I went through there on my bike just before Katrina, coming from Montana, and i think that's where i would've got miserably lost if my brother in Montana hadn't warned me ahead of time about the confusing road signs coming into town. I think that's where there was this awesome deep gorge with a lake in it just on the outskirts.

Why does everyone think Queensland is good? The beaches are crap and after 364/365 days of heat and sunnyness, it starts to get a bit repetitive.

as i tend to ignore all of eastern washington (they want to be their own state anyway, who gives a f*ck about them) my statement still stands...

The 51st state!!

Dont come here though, 300K dollars (about 150K pounds) will not even buy you a 2 bedroom terraced house in a shit hole neighbourhood.

Plus the quality of life is shite

Yeah, but women with British accents are so incredibly sexy. A woman could weigh 300 lbs. and have a mustache, and if she had a British accent i'd jump on her.
