nah, people like him are the kind of people who unite the music community, or at least they will in the future. Without people like him a war would develop, generally between blacks, angsty whites, and "cool" whites

arrogance stinks.

Postby Goofydobbi13 on Tue Jun 05, 2007 12:34 am

Hmmm  ...well...there's not much I can say to these posts...except...

1. Variety...it isn't a bad thing. So shove it. :)

2. Thank you stinks, but congrats to you, because you're choice of music is obviously...much MUCH better than mine. I think I'll start to listen to yours now instead of mine.

3. I'd like to know stinks, who or what, determines "how good/bad" music artists are? Is it you, stinks? What is the criteria used to determine the quality of a music artist? Are there final categories/labels for the music artist, such as: "shitty, gay, kinda shitty, alright, cool, pretty cool, or awesome!" ?

4. Thanks, I will give myself a pat on the back, but really...I'd rather give you a pat, right in your mouth, or cheek for that matter. :P [/i]

Sorry. I forgot...one must have to like a certain style of music or genre, and stick with it. You're right, thanks for reminding me. I'll get on that.

Then you'll dispise one of my favorite play lists, 'cause it starts off with In My Darkest Hour (by megadeth) and is followed by Going Under (by evanescence). And it repeats that pattren (megadeth, then evanescence) about four to six times. Good music....

Oh, and Good rockin, brother.

one of the reasons I only "kinda" like evanescence is because I played Going Under repeatedly til I got tired of it

Ah, throwing down the gauntlet on a Pink Floyd debate?
I love it

Ah, Syd Barrett, R.I.P., Wish You Were Here......

I would concede to you that they produced a different sound with Syd, but I wouldn't stretch so far as to say it was totally different. Waters, Wright, & Mason were there at the time, and they all contributed to what would be called the "psychedelic" sound. Which I would submit occurred prior to King Crimson's inception. Yeah, I'm getting technical, so what.
I do admit, if I had to pick an era of Floyd, it would be the post-Syd/pre-Roger leaving era. Incredible music.
I saw them on Oct 3rd 1987 in Syracuse on the Learning to Fly tour. UN-FREAKIN BELIEVABLE. Even without Roger Waters, they put on a show I'll remember until the day I die. The best show I've ever seen (I've seen a lot).
I also saw them in '96 in Syracuse (3rd row center BTW, thank you) on the Division Bell tour. Once again, awesome show.
One thing that sucks about getting older, all the good bands have gone away......

In My Darkest Hour is an epic. Used to love em.

Corrected a few errors. And Yes, In My Darkest Hour is great. I got a playlist where it is followed by Going Under by Evanescence (a 'newer' fav). BTW, what made you give up on Megadeth?

Just kinda grew outa that phase of music. I started out listening to Megadeth and Iron Maiden, found my way into death metal, then I got turned on to some, relatively, mellower stuff (Korn, Tool, etc) and eventually ended up with my current musical tastes. Dont get me wrong, I could still jam out on whatever but the stuff thats in my queue now is just a bit mellower.

I see. I don't see myself mellowing out, unless P.O.D. and other 'christian' bands (like Third Day) is considered mellowing out. Haven't heard a lot of those bands, but, well, better than no music.
