Who would win it in 2008?

I have no clue who would win, because I know nothing about military bases and also I have no idea where most of the military would side.

I'd say Northeast.

I don't think the Northeast would stand much chance...
The Midwest would definitely lose though, they got nothing but plains and farms, and plus they'd have to fight on three fronts. The South would have a similar geographic problem, though not as bad as the Midwest. So I guess I'd give it to the West.

By the way, the winner would be Texas. quick invasion into the gulf coast (all oil and gas supplies) followed by a quick trip into the midwest, (all food and several nuclear missile sites) then melt the coasts, and take over Mexico too..we will need more population to rebuild the country.
PS What kind of stupid question is this?

Well it depends. Where are the most military bases, the best best military commanders, the biggest population. Also, we're are the lines? Is the west only the coast-states or also adjacent states?

clearly, you are wrong. victory would belong swiftly to the northeast corridor. the brilliant trifecta of cities, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston providing the most brilliant minds in weapons development research. not to mention missile silos also already set up, and as a bonus, with missiles already pointed at the borders in case of an attack (it's true, look it up).
so right off the bat, say goodbye to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and the Pacific Northwest. and the lower part of Texas and Arizona.
and then we've got the best transportation system set up in the nation, our highways immediately convertable to military air strips. the bombers come next, sweeping everything and dropping ton upon ton of smart bombs that come through your window and f*ck up your day. plus we have so many oil refineries here on the East Coast that our reserves of oil and steady reception of more of it would only contribute to breaking all other rebellious military action swiftly. plus, Batman and the X-Men are from New York.
and then Texas would call up ESPN and complain all about how those assholes from Philly have a better football team and it really makes them sad that they'd never get to play again and have batteries thrown at the Dallas players.
and then the war stops cause fucking a, the season is starting, and the fantasy draft is coming up. wait, what were we talking about?

Really, if anyone were going to secede today it would be California. They're at the point where they could make their own nation, and it'd be a damn good one too. Of course, the government would throw a huge fit because A) it's a piece of territory that we won't have and B) There's a lot of government property there, especially in the way of military bases and munitions.
