I don't think it will be a total screw up. I think that it will probably be a decent movie but I doubt it will screw up or blow you away.

Movies rarely blow me away. I'll watch it just because... and if its terrible will demand that the management give me back the last two hours of my life.

So you'll waste more of your time on a futile protest?

Movies are usually about an 1.5 hours, so I am budgeting myself an extra .5 to complain ;)

Besides, making other people look uncomfortable is the best refund lol (just kidding... kinda)

I hope it is kick ass! I really like Iron Man! But they screwed The Hulk up and Spiderman 3 they really fucked up! So it's possible. I, however, will wait for the DVD or BLueRay or VHS or LaserDisc...

You forgot Xmen 3 which was also a disappointment for the following reasons.
They made Juggernaut A. a mutant B. not Xavier's brother C. Australian
They implied that Beast had been a furball his whole life, eventhough he makes an appearance in X2 as a human.
Spike is Storm's nephew, but they made him not, and asian
They killed cyclopse (not complainin but didn't happen)
They killed Jean,
Phoenix is not really jean, she is an alien energy of sorts that takes the form of jean.
Jean and Warren are the same age, but they made like a 10 year age difference
And trust me there's more

On a separate note

Never been to big on the comic book thing, especially when I watched the Simpsons long before I ever got to the age where kids get into comics. Besides, I got hooked onto chapter books and novels while other kids were reading those comic books. :?

Boy was I an oddball as a kid.

Yeah, good point. Gambit was left out, that really sucks. But X-men was far better than The Hulk! The whole comic book framed movie concept was entirely annoying. And how boring was it! I would never expect a Hulk movie to be boring! The Hulk TV series was more kick ass than the friggin' movie!

Spiderman was okay, and then they took the best Spiderman concept and ruined it! Venom was the lamest villain and the whole Dark Peter Parker was horrible, especially the Jazzy Spidey Show! S-T-U-P-I-D!

They need to get Peter Jackson or someone to do a Marvel film!

If they could bring the SilverSurfer back in his own movie, that would be cool. I really liked SilverSurfer concept they had going in the Fantastic Four. I must say, I did like FF2 better than Spiderman3.

I am really yearning for someone to take The Maxx and put it to the screen. I would kinda like to see it stay animated. Sam Kieth was one of my favorite artists from Marvel Reader, then he jumped ship with McFarlane, Larson, Liefeld, and I don't remember anyone else off hand.

I really wish they would re-concept Conan...maybe computer generated this time?

and those are fine also, i read alot novels and stuff, but there's always that part of alot of people that makes them love comics, and i bet if you went to the store and bought some anthologies of comic books they would be just as entertaining as your novels, or atleast they are to me

Seems like it'll be a cool but I hope it will, but they could easily screw it up. Its amazing how many cartoons they've made into full fledged movies. I bet my 2012 that there will be a movie for every superhero

Nope. Not unless they made Animorphs, The Yearling, Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, The Merlin Series, and Harry Potter into comic books or anthologies anyways.

From the commercials it looks like your average "good for the action but shitty story" flick. But I really liked the early trailers where you had no idea what the movie was until they played the ubiquitous riff from the song Ironman and suddenly you knew exactly what it was. =P~

I'm sure there are many more reasons why X3 sucked besides petty differences with the source material.

Well... there is a Conan video game coming out (my memory's gone so it may have already come out, and if so it probably sucked).

I'm a big comic fan, but have generally been unimpressed with movie/tv versions.

The best superhero movies I've seen were Spiderman 2 and The Incredibles.

I quite liked Sky High.

My favourite comic character is Daredevil, but the movie sucked so hard its cheeks imploded.

I've never been an Iron man fan, and suspect the movie will be even worse than Catwoman.

But the best moving-picture version of a comic character ever for me was the "Batman: the Animated series" stuff. Not the C21 "The Batman", though that's not rubbish - the 90's version. I particularly liked their version of the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker)

Wow, not out there yet?

I just saw it and it was pretty good, rather predictable and cliche but eh, you can't beat some good explosions.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Without him it could be nothing but fail.

I feel like I have come home. Only on CC do you get what really counts -ie, a good old fashioned DC vs Marvel debate- thank you Mustard, I am now your personal sycophant, until you tire of me and trade me for a midget in a gimp mask, as you did at the turn of the century.

They actually had a new Conan movie in the works just prior to Arnold being elected.

Directed by John Milius (who directed the original).
It would be nice to see Conan (Arnold) come back one more time with Milius as director.
One can only hope.

As for Iron Man, I hope its good because I really liked Iron Man in the comics.
I also heard Iron Man will play a cameo in the new Hulk movie this summer, kind of opening the door for an Avengers movie........
Now Vision...Imagehe was cool.......

Well regardless of what we think of the film, can we at least agree that on the fact that on anything that RZA throw, Ironman's invisible?

Cool! Someone was finally thinkin' what I was thinkin'! But I wouldn't mind it if they did the movie entirely computer generated, that way we wouldn't really have to compare Arnie to the new Conan dude. They could just pull the Marvel art sketches and make a real awesome Conan!

I haven't read comic books for years, so I am out of the loop as far as how the new stories are evolving. When I was reading comics, Dark Phoenix was still around, and X-Force had just started up, and McFarlane was still drawing SpiderMan. Pretty much all the good stories that have been ripped apart in the movie gallery! When Marvel started grasping at straws for their futuristic Marvel series: SpiderMan 3000 or something like that--that's when I quitreading Marvel in general. Now, I am pretty much all about the artwork, if it ain't super, forget it...I ain't buying it.

I'd be interested in seeing the movie version of the Civil War Chronicles that is currently happening eventually. After all what's better than seeing all of your favorite heroes fighting against each other?
