Canadian Dollar worth more than USD!?

Postby elloeverybody! on Thu Nov 01, 2007 11:35 am

So i am a non premie and was planning on buying premium. But i live in canada so i needed to convert our money to USD. So i went to XE.com, an online currency changer, and it said that 20USD is equal to 18.05CND. What happened? Is the Canadian Dollar realy worth more than a USD?? Or is it just a glitch or something?

Not really you Canadians fault (nothing really is, I suppose) but the falling value of the USdollar against almost all currencies (I read that the AUS dollar is going to be the next one to pass us. Come on, guys!) based on our rising trade deficit.

I have a theory. I herd of this "One World Government" Idea on youtube. Where there is going to be one army, one language and one CURRENCY. Mabey this is part of it. Mabey they are slowly leveling off all currencys so it looks like values are just droping and raising. Then after everything is even, they are going to change it to a single whole world government. Who realy knows what the government is realy doing.

i doubt america is planning to b on an equal footing with the rest of the world...

maybe it's a plan to clog up the world's economy with american notes, collapsing the world so america can just walk in and take it over...

ZOMG! CONSPIRACY!!!1!!!!!!!

Canada rocks :D

That been said, yes the canadian dollar is rising in value compared to american one.

No clues why, I am not an economist.

And Lord Voldemort, if you spent 10 dollars buying something that is worth 20, it means your 10 dollars are worth twice as much, since you could buy something twice as worthier with them.

So, if 1 US = 0.9 CND, it means the Canadian dollar is worth more, since you can buy something worth 1 US with it, 1US will nto be able to buy something worth 1 CND.

Ebb & flow......
It goes up & it goes down.
All the world's currencies are still valued against the U.S. dollar.

No need for panic (or rejoice :? ).
Its funny how so many look at the short term.

Sociology student by any chance?

If 20 little furry pink bunnies cost the same amount as 18 furry little white bunnies, which is more valuable: 1 furry little pink bunny, or a furry little white bunny?

Yes, but let's be honest, monopoly money has more value than a dollar bill. God bless the federal reserve!

The dollar has been falling in value for a number of years now. Pretty much since the tech stock bust in 2000/2001.
