I totally burned mitt romney today

Postby reverend_kyle on Thu Jul 05, 2007 3:53 am

I'm pretty proud of this. So today in my hometown to celebrate the 4th of july there was a festival downtown by the greenbelt. My friends sister said it would be lots of fun so we decided to check it out. We were driving down broadway and we were going to turn right to park by the river on the side that we thought it would be on and realized it was blocked off for the festival. We then remained going straight and parked on the other side of the river to park. Then we walked over to the other side of the festival because we saw a bounce house and those are so freaking sweet so we wanted to jump in it. Keep in mind that we are 17 please. Anyways so then a guy kicked us out of the moonbounce because apparently we are too big to be in it and bad influences on the little kids in there. Something about trying to get them to do backflips and they thought they'd break their necks anyways that's not important. So then we walked a little further and we saw our friends taylor hailey colton and emily. That was sorta funny because I used to have a thing with hailey and so we chilled with them for quite a bit until their parents were coming to pick them up. After that I heard a guy say "THE NEXT PRESIDENT MITT ROMNEY IS GOING TO BE DOWN AT THE WHITE TENT IN 15 MINUTES". My friend and I wanted to watch him speak because we figured maybe that would change our opinion that he is a total tool.

We went searching for the tent and finally found it sat there for like 15 minutes and Mitt Romney finally began to speak. To preface you with the thoughts that went through my mind..What a tool. He got up and the first thing he did was start talking about his wife and how much he loved her. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to burn him. So I yelled very loudly.. which one? Then from somewhere in the middle of the audience someone stood up and yelled, "BURN!" It was clearly a very funny mormon joke which was even funnier because my town is so strongly mormon That is where the burn came in and thus where the title of the thread came. Now back on to how much of a tool he is. After he stopped talking about his wife he started talking about freedom and about how he is so glad in America that EVERYONE has freedom. Basically, just talked about freedom.. here is where I believe he is most a tool. Mitt Romney only cares about freedom for those that think, act, behave, and are exactly like him. Which is your typical mormon people. He is one of the worst people about trying to impose his views on others. He used to be tolerable as governor of massachusetts he had the view that he was personally against abortion but didn't feel the government needed not intrude. Now that he is trying to vie for the votes of republicans he has completely changed his view sets and he is trying everything possible to get roe v. wade overturned.. what a tool. After that he told a brief story about how a soldier died in Iraq and everyone turned and put their hands on their heart as his casket was lowered and was like that freedom for everyone exactly like me didn't come for free and i"m glad great men like him died for that. And also it was like a 2 minute speech which I felt really disappointed about because he didn't get into any politics just tried to get everyone on his side by mentioning freedom 30000 times.

After that I was parched it was like 100 degrees outside and I hadn't had anything to drink since at 8 before I went to the parade earlier that day and by this time it was like 730. So I went to go find something to drink. I went to the first stand and asked if they had something to drink. They said no their stand wasn't allowed to sell drinks. I was like that's weird they have a fountain but they aren't allowed to sell drinks. So the same thing to stand after stand after stand. Later I found out that it was because this festival part of the agreement for Mitt Romney to come was that none of the stands there were allowed to sell any form of beverage so that he could sell his crappy $5 a bottle rootbeer and his crappy 8 oz cups of soda for $2. I was so pissed by this, because not only is Mitt Romney supporting himself having a monopoly. He is also requiring this as a way to make an appearance in a town and they went for it. How can people possibly think this man can lead our country when he is this much of a tool. After that we left to a convenient store to get something to drink and on our way we saw this save darfur stand where they were selling bracelets. We sat and talked to the people at that stand about various things like politics, mitt romney, and africa. My friend Zach bought a bracelet. The real depressing thing about that is that most of that money isn't going to get to darfur to help stop the genocide. Even sadder, the people selling that stuff don't even know where it is going to go. They are sort of stuck in a huge pyramid scheme where maybe 20 cents of the dollar bracelets get to darfur. Who is at the top pulling the strings? it's tools like Mitt Romney that's who.

Anyways so that was my experience at the festival.

Also another example of how mitt romney is a tool is that he watched our fireworks show, and well Idaho Falls does have a pretty big fireworks show and it is one of the biggest in the United States, but the things he said were clear toolness and just pandering for votes even if he has to lie. He was governor of massachusetts and he's attended the wonderful televised on tv boston fireworks many times but he felt the need to say that ours were the best he's ever seen just because he felt it would make people throw money his way. He didn't have to lie, it's not even that big of a deal but the fact that he felt he needed to lie as a politician just makes me angry.

I figured this would be too long for most people to read. Now you guys should understand why I feel short and (IMO) witty responses are best.

Not really sure how this is a burn on Romney. Mormons, I guess (which obviously he is one), but not really Romney.
He's been married to the same woman (one woman) since 1969.

You make a pretty good point except for he chose to be of that religion and its really defined him the whole time running for president.. Like he'll talk about family values and he'll be like well being mormon I believe... blah blah blah. And Yeah it was mostly a mormon burn, but on a mormon.

My friend and I were going to go get signs, and protest about him not supporting free enterprise actually.

But it was so fucking hot out side and we already looked enough like smelly hippies.

I also later found out that the rootbeers were in fact $10 a bottle. I thought that was an exaggeration.

He needs a whole bunch more money than everyone else because he's mormon. He wont get elected purely because of that. My ex girlfriends parents bought a 6 pack of his rootbeer for $60 dollars. She drank one and they freaked at her. THEY WERE LIKE THAT COST ME 10 FREAKIN DOLLARS.

their parents do. Most my girl peeps don't care about politics. I live in idaho so if they did i'd probably not like them at all. So I"m glad they don't. I have a few that do care and agree with me. That is one of the biggest turn ons seriously.

He may have been a pretty bad governor in a state that is generally starved of competent leadership, but I cannot say this enough:

Mitt Romney is a very pretty man.

He's like the Republican John Edwards, only with more platitudes, and better hair.
