Full circle on Feminism - No Bra Day

Postby tzor on Thu Oct 12, 2017 2:14 pm

This is not exactly a "necro bump" but someone just bumped it on my Facebook feed

Feminist Organizes 'No Bra Day' to Teach Men 'Not to Sexualize Women's Bodies'

I'd post an image, but the article mentions an "off the shoulder T shirt" and they have a camisole in the photograph.

I really have no solid opinion on the matter. There is a lot of context missing. I'm going to lean towards the young feminist here.

Hit the enter button and somehow submit was done prematurely.

I'm supporting them by not wearing a bra today.

Tzor thinks going braless is anti-feminist. I guess you remember nothing of the late 60's and early 70's when feminists were burning their bras. I remember it and I was a small kid.

I thought the full circle was referring to that. Do you think he meant the cups are full circle?

I think he is saying "no bra day" is not a feminist thing, it is anti-feminist.

Why don't the use helium implants instead of silicone? No need for bras, they would just hold themselves up.

I thought the "full circle" was referring to the return of releasing the breasts, like the beginning of feminism bra burning. As in it made it all the way around back to the start.

I'm also a bit baffled by this thread. Tzor- what books have you read about Feminism? Maybe it would clear things up if you explained what you meant.

You don't need to know feminism, just basic geometry, you fool.
A full circle = 360º.
Back in the old days they were burning bras and now they've gone back to their braless state.
Instead of feminism, they may want to focus on physics, particularly the effects of gravity.

That doesn't help decide whether or not the circle is outside or inside the 360.

I've never particularly understood the idea behind going bra-less as an act of defiance - wearing a bra benefits me more than me.

Please don't put thoughts in my mind; it's very unsanitary. I haven't really expressed my opinion on the matter. I would have thought it could be derived based on other similar posts I have made in the past. Going braless is as classical feminism as one can get. It's equality.

Yes I do remember. Of course I was too young to realize the full implications of those days ... I mean we are talking nylon and polyester material ... that's dangerous stuff ... makes weed safe by comparison.

You kinda dodged my last question. You obviously have an issue with Feminism, it's just not really clear what you think it is.

I have no issue with feminism. I have an issue with modern feminists. So what was your last question which I apparently dodged?

Feminism is the promotion of "equality" of the sexes in the classical liberalism sense of the word.

show

Modern feminists, on the other hand are rapid promoters of misandry in the cause of the progressive movement (thus in effect combining the worst elements of radical feminism and Marxist feminism and in so doing actually hurt women. Modern feminism is the biggest enablers of the Harvey Weinsteins of the world, the biggest supporters of anti-feminist Islam, and so on and so forth.

The notion of a bra as a form of "modesty" means it is no different from a burqa, although it is a false one because it creates and emphasizes the space between the breasts, better known as cleavage.
