Who is your favorite Beatle ?

Postby Vincent M on Thu May 24, 2007 12:21 pm

The Beatles is considered (by popular demand of course) to be the best band the world has ever seen. If you indeed like this band please vote on your favorite Beatle.

Also if possible post your fav. song from them or album

As a group, the Beatles were definitely the greatest. Their chord progressions and harmonies (in the early years) were far ahead of their time. Lennon and McCartney were quite possibly the greatest songwriting duo of all time. However, as individual artists/composers they sucked. McCartney is bubblegum personified, and Lennon was so morose, he made you want to listen to McCartney's crap just to achieve homostasis. Harrison was just stupid (crackerbox palace?), and the only thing any of them did that was worthwhile after breaking up was Lennon's "Working Class Hero" (music ripped off from Dylan's "Masters of War"). Ringo was picked to replace Pete Best because he was the epitomy of cool, and although he didn't shine as an artist, he married Barbara Bach, so i voted for him.

The beatles were great, but personally I prefer the Who. Don't get me wrong, I like the beatles, they were a great band, but I feel that there were better out there. And I'm going to have to go with Pete Townshend for the best writer of all time, as well as a revolutionary in guitar playing. And Keith Moon was the best drummer of all time and pretty awesome (look at Rolling Stone...he's actually 2nd, behind the drummer from Rush, but well...Rush isn't that great in my opinion). Star was cool, but wasn't the best skill-wise. The beatles are more famous for the most part because they fit in with the the popculture better than any other band. I'm not trying to put the beatles down, but thats just my opinion on them.

The Beatles blazed trails in hard rock in the early days, but what impressed me the most was when they moved abruptly into the counterculture with "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band", and held their lead through this period also. The Who was one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all times, but they didn't come close to influencing worldwide culture like the Beatles.

There are two dead Beatles.

If I were to pick one, I'd have to say Paul. Just because he's Paul.

Paul and Ringo, but if I have to choose I guess Paul.

Lennon was a great song writer, but he was also a hippie nut job (even more than the rest of them) and his personality loses him my vote.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?
