Risk 2210

Postby OnlyAmbrose on Thu Dec 27, 2007 1:37 pm

I just bought it with my Christmas money, and I played a game against a few friends... loved the game, I think it's better than classic. My friends weren't quite as fond of it, maybe because they got royally owned ;) (On an unrelated side-note, I've definitely noticed that I've started kicking some serious butt in real-life risk ever since I joined CC)

So which do y'all like better?

Risk 2210 is great, I've never lost. Ever.

There needs to be a way to play it on line. Maybe with a Card Makers Forum. lol

The bidding for turn order would be hard to maintain though. I mean, unless you secretly bid as part of your turn.

I've never played 2210, so classic. I have recently got classic for Chanukah( :) ) and have played several games with my parents, brother, and neighbour. Anyway I think that the original is usually the best.

i know about underwater cities and moon, and also that the game lasts only 5 turns..does that make for a short game or is it still fun?

RISK 2210 A.D. is a board game from Avalon Hill, basically RISK with new rules. there's underwater cities (which makes australia much less well-defended), the moon, and different commanders you need to fight for the moon or underwater, and you can play classic RISK with it, just except a few rules. so, yeah. i want one. :D

Oh Lord no, it's far from a short game. We played just a three player game and it went on for hours.

Basically it's classic risk with a lot of added aspects. The moon and the undersea colonies are the most obvious of these, but you can't forget Commanders with their special abilities and stuff. Missile strikes. Etcetera.

Definitely a good time. :)

That is an option you don't have to use. It's for the 'quick play' or whatever. 2210 is amazing though. :)

if we made it into a cc map, we wouldnt necessarily need to own the commanders and play with card and make the bids for turns.

couldnt it just be a new map? and you could only attain the rights to play on water or moon territs by owning something? that wouldnt be too bad...

and if you lost the ability to hold water or moon territs, they could just become neutrals, like they were bombarded or something?

It would require a lot of new coding to get it right, though I guess you could just set neutral armies on the water and lunar territories instead of just making them empty.

Though without the commanders and stuff, it really isn't 2210. Still, could make for a fun map. Kind of a cross between USApocalypse and the Global Warming maps.

2210 is better i think, i have nothing against classic but 2210 is fun cuz there is so many options. i always go for the moon right away and buy as many moon cards as i can to get the invade earth cards and let everyone fight it out on earth then i invade earth and clean up
