5.25" to CD Direction Wanted

Postby Fireside Poet on Thu Dec 20, 2007 6:45 pm

Alright, keep the ignorant comments to yourself and give me something constructive instead (I am sure, to some, that that is an open invite to spam) ... yes, this is a strange case, but thought someone here might be able to give me some direction or someone might know someone.

Situation: I recently picked up a rather rare Avalon Hill game called "Dneiper River Line" (PC version(!)) from 1982. I played this way back in the day and would like to again. Herein lies the problem... The game is on 5.25" floppies (2) and I would like these ripped from the floppies and put on a CD. I can probably use DOSBOX to run it in Windows and I have all the pieces (manual, game board, counters, etc...).

I have looked all over the abandonware/old games sites and this game is not available anywhere except for a C64 version with an emulator, which I would rather not do.

Is there a service somewhere or if someone here has the means to transfer the two 5.25" floppies to CD? Cost?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

(yeah... I know... but just keep it to yourself)... ;)

you're going to be out of luck. Those floppies will be blank by now. I saved my old Apple II and a bunch of floppies. Plugged it in a few years back and not a one of the floppies had anything readable on them.
