It wasn't found funny by plenty of people, who simply thought it was an insult on creationism and the 'intelligent' design movement.

Me, my friends, and a lot of other people found it funny. Then again, we were nine or eight with this shit went down, so we didn't pay attention.

I read the original letter when it was first circulated and then read the book a little later. The inanity and some of the sarcasm definitely gave me a chuckle. I won't say it is irrelevent even though it is a few years old if only because a large portion of the American population are believers in creationism and see intelligent design as a valid theory. The consciousness raising is very important.

The five year thing did make me laugh though.

FSMism remains valid as long as people think that Intelligent Design should be taught in schools.

It actually makes a fairly decent argument whilst remaining entirely preposterous.
