Modern churhes are hurting religion more than helping!

Churches are spoiling people. Not all, but a big fraction of church goers arn't taking time to read the bible for themselves.

Does a person learn more from reading the bible themselves or having someone read selected chapters with no guarantee that the person is even taking it in? You people know what I mean. Your watching TV, then the next minute your wondering what you were watching because your mind was on something entirely different. Or, someone's telling you a story that you have absolutely no interest in and instead of saying shut up, you pretend your listening for the sake of their feelings. The whole time your thinking of something completely off topic.

Do these sceniros not take place in church as well?

My point: If I go to church, but don't bother reading the bible on my own time, I'm only going threw the motions and I'm compelled to be the same person I've always been.

Otherwords, unless you have very good listening skills, church isn't going to do you any good if you don't read the bible yourself.

I'm an agnostic, but I agree in a way. I don't think that people should take guidance from a church, and should instead read the holy book and interpret it themselves.
