I'm glad I actually clicked on that. That site is a summary of a three-programme series broadcast by the UK's Channel 4 in 1997, "Against Nature". I remember this programme, and the controversy it generated at the time, although I wasn't able to watch it myself.

The programme was produced by a certain Martin Durkin, who was connected with the Revolutionary Communist Party, when it was still active at the time. One of the things he did was to stuff the programme with RCP members and pass them off as environmental "experts" when in fact they weren't, and were placed there just to push the RCP line.

Now of course, just because a programme is produced by a communist group doesn't automatically invalidate it or anything, but I thought you'd find that interesting, jay.

Al Gore winning this "peace" prize proves what a political sham this award has become.
His "winning" can be put right next to Yasser Arafat, Mikael Gorbachev, & Jimmy Carter. A great group to share this "honor" with.

How can this "peace" prize be awarded to someone who made a movie (which now has several proven innacuracies and/or falsehoods) over a woman such as this:

Afterall, all she did was save over 2500 children from the Nazis....

I don't keep up on this issue as much as I should. Does anyone know why the term 'climate change' is being substituted for 'warming'?

Because Global Warming makes the Gulf Stream shut down, turning Europe into a fridge. So it's not all warming, see?

Does Big Al really deserve to be on the same page as Mother Theresa or the Dali Lama? (note: I have no idea how to spell Dali llama)

What do you have to do to be nominated in the first place? Are there different categories?

Sorry I don't know much about the Nobel prize process.

So maybe this is more of a political statement than saying that Gore has contributed more to world peace than anybody else this year (which I would disagree with, of course) Isn't that the Norweigen's right to express themselves by the awarding of this prize?

Additionally, I'm not quite sure what you got against Gorby, Iz. The guy oversaw the removal of the Soviet Union as a threat to the United States. I thought you didn't like Communists? And while I can see how you wouldn't like Carter, I feel like he's done a helluva lot for world peace.
