Everybody feels that way at that age. Buckle down, stay focused, and ignore those who think school is a joke. You'll be fine.

BTW, if you are really that scared, then start making friends now with people who work in the field that you're interested in.

BINGO !
School is the easiest time you'll have in life. I wish all I had to worry about was homework, tests, and grades.
Enjoy it and take advantage of it.

every older person I know out of school says this, but the thing is, they're often under the impression that school is exactly the same where they left it! The homework, subject material, and standardized tests get harder every year; every year they bump down things from 1 grade level to the grade level below, kids are being taught things that older kids didn't learn at that age. While my brother studies I often find things in his agenda that I didn't hear about til I was much older (and no he's not in some genious class and I'm not in some "special" class).

Seriously do you guys have kids in high school? and if so how many advanced classes are they taking? kids in my school (which is small and not rich, far from a private school) often stay up late at night yearlong for homework and activities. These activities aren't always sports, they're often business activities and the like that students take for business experience or to look good in college.

When I was a sophomore I took advanced math and english in the same term (we have block scheduling); the homework killed me, the cramming everything into my head killed me, ever since then I've been taking average classes because I actually want to have time for myself after school (aka CC :P )

You could always do what i do in advanced classes: dont do the homework

Seriously though, i took Calculus as an 11th grader, I think I may have done one homeowrk assignment the whole year, and still managed to pull off an 80 average. Just know the shit, i understood it without doing hours of homework every night.

Yeah, I don't even have to do it. The homework is just for our benefit, not a grade :)

Could be worse: you could wake up at 6AM and wake up to football double sessions (two-a-days) that last until fucking 5PM. Thanks, I'd rather go to school...

I know football is a "more manly sport" but I've done summer tennis from 6AM to 12PM, more than half of what you've done, so I guess I could estimate 11 hours, especially if you guys have all this padding that covers your skin from the sun, I just got a T and some shorts

and I don't even mind it, I love to play so I find it less work and would rather play than go to school

I don't notice a difference; all classes are equally easy to me ;) I've basically lazed my way through school. I slept through AP US History and came out with the highest grade in the class

It's not that he taught it easy -- it was college-level -- I'm just able to pull it off. Unless it's math. I hate math.

older person....... ouch
No, my kids are not in high school yet, but it doesn't matter how "tough" school is. Bottom line is all you still have to worry about is good grades.
Now sure, that may be difficult in its own right, but it pales in comparison to the worries or concerns associated with
"real life".
Job, taxes, mortgage, car(s) payment, electric bill, water bill, heating bill, health insurance, car insurance, homeowners insurance, home maintenance, car(s) maintenance, food, and of course...........
raising children.
All of these items are on your parent's plate so that all you have to worry about is.........
getting good grades.........
so you can worry about ......
well.........

see the list above.

Good luck! Like I said, enjoy it now.

okay I guess it really depends on your career but I understand the job, hey, at least most of you guys don't have to take it home with you, once your shift is over you go home and thats it.

maintenence and food, sure I guess thats hard, tho if you live downtown like I plan to do for a while, you won't need a car.

children obviously I wouldn't know about, I'll just take your word for it

however all of those bills and payments you mentioned, you only need to do those once a month right? so it just means a bunch of paperwork once a month, less than a project for english since we usually have one every 2 weeks. Or by bills and payments did you mean having to make enough money to pay them?
