Why?
Why NOT? Why not expand the Market and build the sport, jimb?
Do you realize that baseball was demoted as an Olympic sport due to "low popularity" and that few nations in the world play it? This happened some 20 years ago.

So.
I still ask why?
Does MLB care if the sport is International?
Does MLB care if it’s an Olympic Sport or not?
Does this make it more profitable for the owners here?
Maybe it does maybe it doesn’t.
That’s the only thing that matters to MLB team owners.
So I again ask why?
If you’re proposing this to an MLB owner asking them to invest in expanding the sport then you need to show the ROI.
Why is baseball no longer America’s Game?
Strike Three: Baseball Is Dead
But there are plenty of signs that baseball needs a significant boost in popularity. Television viewership in 2021 was down 12% from 2019, and the average age of baseball fans is 57. That’s much older than any of the other major sports (the NBA’s average is just 42), and baseball’s fans are getting older year by year. The average age in 2006 was 52.
