Earlier Custer had split his force in 3 parts....The other 2 under the commands of Major Reno , and Captain Benteen...Put their 2 units back together, dug in on a ridge, as Custer was getting the brunt of the battle...They could not help him...They chose to save their wounded, wait for General Terry's infantry, coming the next day...
--------- At 2:30 pm ,Custer's luck ran out...The Indians , after destroying Custer's force on Last Stand hill...They Road off Victorious....It would take 2 weeks to reach Washington D.C....Of the Defeat of Custer....
