IF Biden wins ...

Postby saxitoxin on Thu Oct 08, 2020 10:19 pm

This is what Democrats have to look forward to:

    - 45 out of every 100 Americans passionately - insanely - opposed to Biden and another 20 who only supported him because they don't like Trump
    - A conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court and a huge reservoir of cash with which to file infinite obstructionist lawsuits against Biden
    - A large portion of the Democratic progressive base lukewarm in their enthusiasm for Biden and who believe Bernie didn't get a fair shake
    - The oldest president in American history who has all but said he won't run for a second term, denying the Dems incumbent advantage in 2024
    - So many Trump executive orders that it may take 20 years to undo them all
    - An outgoing Administration willing to burn this bitch to the ground on the way out the door, and leave the ashes for a frail and elderly Biden to reassemble
    - A large GOP Senate minority willing to liberally filibuster
    - Historic precedent for Republicans to sweep both chambers of Congress in 2022
If Biden wins, he will accomplish nothing. He will be obstructed, sandbagged, and sabotaged at every step of the way. The only thing Democrats have to look forward to is slowing our momentum - not stopping it and certainly not creating their own. All of Biden's campaign promises? None are going to happen. He will be a figurehead president attending ribbon cuttings and making speeches. The Dems are on defense, trying to stop the dyke with their thumb. A win for them won't change that.

Win or lose, it's a great day to be an Always Trumper!

Hillary didn't give a concession speech in 2016. First time in the history of television.

She had a good cry, went to bed, then got up the next morning and sent out a press release.

If Biden wins, he will accomplish nothing. He will be obstructed, sandbagged, and sabotaged at every step of the way.

For what it's worth, it's nice to see the occasional bit of honesty from the Right. Yup, essentially a replay of what you did to Obama. Put party ahead of country, that is the way.

Except people do learn. Slowly, with difficulty, and sometimes with relapses and regressions, but they do learn. On the issues that matter, people will get it done. Whether through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, they will get it done.

Insulin-dependant diabetics are rising fast in the U.S. More and more are asking why they pay $500/month for a drug that people in any other country can get for $70/month. There is a mountain of opposition building to the Federal government's coddling of Big Pharma. It will be ended. It doesn't matter if Biden's plan is stopped, some other plan will pass. One way or another, through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, people will get it done.

People are tired of trying to go out for a burger and having some hillbilly at the table next to them rubbing his Glock through the entire meal, putting everybody on edge. There is a mountain of ordinary people sick and tired of the Federal government coddling of the gun lobby. Sensible gun regulation will come. I don't even know if Biden will attempt it, but it will come. One way or another, through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, people will get it done.

More and more people are losing their homes to climate change. Wildfires in the west, hurricanes in the south, droughts in the midwest and tornadoes everywhere. There is a mountain of people who are sick and tired of Deniers setting the agenda and coddling Big Oil. Sooner or later the U.S. will start to go green. One way or another, through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, people will get it done.

Roe vs. Wade is as good as dead, that much is known. For a little while, there will unfortunately be an increase in women forced to go through with bad pregnancies. But most people know that it's a bad idea to do that. The religious bigots have peaked now, is my reading of the numbers. They still have enormous power, but I believe it's less than it was five or ten years ago, and it's on the ebb. Legal abortion will be preserved through the ballot box rather than through the artifice of a legal technicality, which quite honestly is how it should have been done n the first place. One way or another, through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, people will get it done.

Free education will come from simple economic pressure. As the U.S. continues to price its universities high enough that only the rich can send can send their kids to a good university, while Europe and Asia educate anyone who qualifies, the former will lose its technological edge while the latter will continue to advance. More and more people ask why working class Europeans can become doctors but not working class Americans. One way or another, through the Democrats or through moderate Republicans or through a third party or through non-partisan lobbying, people will get it done.

Well, your number smells like you pulled it out of your ass, but at least you got the insane part right.

And if you're counting on these people (The master race?)

to overturn the duly elected government, then I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you. FBI busts militia 'plot' to abduct Michigan Gov Gretchen Whitmer

    - A conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court and a huge reservoir of cash with which to file infinite obstructionist lawsuits against Biden
Pack the court, Joe!

I agree with you that Trump and the Republicans have done enormous damage to the country, and it's going to take a long time to recover, so the sooner we start, the better. It's not like the Democrats don't have plenty of experience repairing the country from Republican failures.

    - An outgoing Administration willing to burn this bitch to the ground on the way out the door, and leave the ashes for a frail and elderly Biden to reassemble
    - A large GOP Senate minority willing to liberally filibuster
    - Historic precedent for Republicans to sweep both chambers of Congress in 2022
So you're straight up admitting that Republicans do not give a shit about this country, and only care about power. And if they can't stay in power they will destroy the country and do everything they can to prevent Democrats from repairing it. And that's going to bring them back into power?
Well, I've learned to never underestimate the stupidity of Republicans, but that kind of thing just might wake up enough Democrats to get involved..

    - A large portion of the Democratic progressive base lukewarm in their enthusiasm for Biden and who believe Bernie didn't get a fair shake
    - The oldest president in American history who has all but said he won't run for a second term, denying the Dems incumbent advantage in 2024
Destroying the country might have a way of bringing the Democrats together.

You've shown your true colors - you don't give a shit about this country.

You're in a cult, and your only concern is that your cult leader stays in power. But what happens to the cult members when the leader decides that he can't hold on to power any longer?

Golly Wally Duke, are you on the free codeine KoolBak keeps talking about?

Too many otherwise sensible and intelligent people will get pretty riled at the thought of having to pay taxes so someone on welfare might get, welfare.

They would flip out if the Canadian health care system was made law there.

I honestly hope it improves and the changes she personally helped with are the only thing I admire about Killary.

Any socialized health benefits in the USA have to be forced in slowly enough that they don't lead to civil unrest.

I just hope Alberta healthcare can hold on enough that I don't end up having to go to a vet telling them my dog is having my symptoms to afford medical attention as I age.

POMPEO THROWS A GRENADE 10 DAYS INTO THE FUTURE!

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today voided all restrictions on U.S. Government relations with the Republic of China, effective January 10, stopping just short of recognizing the Republic of China as the actual government of mainland China and not the PRC.

Taiwan is a vibrant democracy and reliable partner of the United States, and yet for several decades the State Department has created complex internal restrictions to regulate our diplomats, servicemembers, and other officials’ interactions with their Taiwanese counterparts. The United States government took these actions unilaterally, in an attempt to appease the Communist regime in Beijing. No more.

Today I am announcing that I am lifting all of these self-imposed restrictions. Executive branch agencies should consider all “contact guidelines” regarding relations with Taiwan previously issued by the Department of State under authorities delegated to the Secretary of State to be null and void.

https://www.state.gov/lifting-self-impo ... ationship/

This is the latest in a series of brilliant Administration moves to time-bomb the next president. Biden will now either have to roll-back these recognitions, and face the domestic political fallout that comes with it, or keep them in place and deal with an enraged People's Republic that is already girding for war with Taiwan. Neither alienating a million Chinese-Americans nor stumbling the U.S. into a world war against Mainland China will help the Rats during the 2022 midterms! Biden will have to pick his poison.

The intelligentsia on the front lines (AKA Australia) is in a panic!
