Well, HitRed told us you should buy silver.

Meanwhile I'm too cheap to spend $30,000 cad on a real nice Chevelle with a 307 engine in it.

1971, tan.

It might actually be too nice. I want something to do burnouts with and thrash on.

Yeah, I suppose if the president was the original owner of that Chevelle it would bump up the price too.

Cool. I don’t like the color but that’s subjective.

I’m kinda in the market myself... and (like you) I want a weekend driver, not show car.
So I don’t care about it being all original or having the papers.

My dream car is a ‘61-66 Lincoln Continental Convertible with suicide doors...

but they aren’t cheap. You can get a beat up one for $30K but it’ll need a lot of work. If you want something nice it’s close to $50K or more... and $100K if it’s mint/original. I’d also probably need a new garage, as I don’t think it’ll fit in my garage or if it did it’d be tight. So add another $15-$20K minimum for that!

I’d be more likely to buy something like...

Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible
I like red, but blue or black might be badass too.

You can find something like this, not mint but pretty and clean and working, for $25K maybe $30K depending on details.

you forgot about the roof activation mecanism on the continental which basically breaks all the time, is super expensive to fix and is a total nightmare. Also, that thing might weight like 4 spermwhales and I'm not sure it has enough autonomy to go from one gas station to the next one. Just buy a die cast model and the cutlass.

Personally... I got that thing for a porsche 944turbo or S2... but somehow, I know I wouldn't drive it all that much

I doubt the Lincoln top would be unreliable but if you are not mechanical, going to a shop will be expensive if it does break.

I'm a fan of the Cutlass and 4-4-2s but I'm not really a convertible guy. I love Buicks had an aqua '68 GS 4-speed but I'm starting to lean back toward the Chevelles because owning a 1969 Eldorado has made me realize, not being able to easily buy a dome light lens for your car or having to do research to figure out what shock it needs sucks.

I like that tan. By far the most popular colors are red and black. I prefer to swim upstream.

It's kind of silly to care about papers when it's a low performance car.

It's a big deal for proving the LS-6 is the original engine but when it's a six banger I laugh at "numbers matching."

Oh wow, the car is a slug and it is all original. Bravo. =D>

Yeah, I haven’t really done the research on maintenance and/or issues. I know it’d be expensive and it’s more of a dream than something I’m realistically considering. I just think they’re frickin’ beautiful.

So in addition to a new garage I might need to repave my driveway, get rid of the cracking asphalt and get a new foundation with concrete?

Add another $25K to my investment.

I’m mainly looking for something to tool around in locally in the summer, so it would be enough.

You have to admit it’s a head-turner.

That’s likely the best route.

I like bigger cars. I’m not a small man, and most of those sports cars are just too small for me.
The Cutlass is about as small as I’ll go. I’d want a 2-door Cutlass like the one shown as it’s easier in-out for me.

I had a 4-door Cutlass sedan, it was nice an big enough, but it was not a classic. ‘84 or ‘86 I think.
Not a bad car, but definitely not a cruiser... 4 doors, sedan, hardtop.

There are some small streets in France. I kind of get why he prefers go-karts. He is puzzled when guys own a duelly as their daily driver.
