Favorite place in Texas.

Postby 2dimes on Sun Dec 22, 2019 8:02 pm

I figure we need to talk about everyone's favorite place in Texas. I'll need to think about it.

Minute Maid Stadium was ok. Maybe the restaurant we had shrimp and crayfish at?

What's your favorite place there?

The ranch. 50 acres and only a picnic table, a fire and beer. Waking up at any hour and seeing the stars. My #1.

The ranch is just what we call it. Don't own any cows. Lots of deer and turkey. Oak trees and cedar. There is noting there but silence and peace.

Sounds nice. Could use a cow. They're delicious. How far to the airport? You should buy a smoker.

Dallas Alley. Went there 25 years ago and apparently it's still there

Grouping of a buncha bars. Went to a great piano bar that had duelling pianos that was a blast. Made me get up on stage as I was the only tourist from oregon and act along to a terrible demeaning little ditty about Yogi bear.....lol

I remember one of the songs was Kenny Roger's "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave me Lucille" and in between choruses, the entire audience (100+ people) would sing / scream along. Like after the Title chorus, everyone would scream "YOU BITCH, YOU SLUT, YOU WHORE!!" lmao...you could hear it for blocks. Had a great couple nights there.
