My wife was offered a decent athletic scholarship to a D1 school... she wound up choosing a D3 school instead.
They couldn’t offer an athletic based scholarship, but because she washroom. fairly modest means they were able to offer a financial need based package that was better than the deal the D1 school was giving her... and academically the schools were similar. Do she went D3.

I was just trying to say sometimes the colleges play games with financial aid to get better athletes.
