since you lack the ability to know what your talking about before you open your mouth .. I will help you with the facts Jimmy...
The Trump Family's Immigrant Story
"On October 7, 1885, Friedrich Trump, a 16-year-old German barber, bought a one-way ticket for America, escaping three years of compulsory German military service. He had been a sickly child, unsuited to hard labor, and feared the effects of the draft. It might have been illegal, but America didn’t care about this law-breaking—at that time, Germans were seen as highly desirable migrants—and Trump was welcomed with open arms. Less than two weeks later, he arrived in New York, where he would eventually make a small fortune. More than a century later, his grandson, Donald Trump, became the 45th president of Friedrich’s adopted home"

If we go back far enough it’s statistically probably that we are all the descendants of both slaves and slave owners.... additionally... you’re trying to pull a Nomad on me again and put words in my mouth. I never stated a position on reparations.

He'll express remorse but not hand over $1 in compensation for the privilege he currently enjoys thanks to the work of his family's slaves, such as his education at an elite, all-male boarding school; his attendance at Columbia University; his father's connections to the Governor of Texas that were leveraged to get him passes for the petty crimes he committed as a teenager; family financing of his hobbyist election campaigns, etc.
These people all feel horrible remorse but never quite enough to take out their personal checkbook. (But they'll happily sign checks from the Treasury, though. As long as other people are paying.)

I know it's hard for you to open links and read facts Jimmy.. so I will further quote the article.. for you
--> " Trump is the son, and grandson, of immigrants: German on his father’s side, and Scottish on his mother’s. None of his grandparents, and only one of his parents, was born in the United States or spoke English as their mother tongue. (His mother’s parents, from the remote Scottish Outer Hebrides, lived in a majority Gaelic-speaking community.) He married a woman from his German hometown, Kallstadt, where his parents had owned vineyards, and attempted to return home with his fortune.
In the mid-1930s, a young Fred Trump went to a party “dressed in a fine suit and sporting his trademark moustache.” Two Scottish sisters were at that same party in Queens: The younger one, Mary Anne MacLeod, was a domestic worker considering a return to her island homeland.
MacLeod might have been living in poverty in the United States, but her origins were even less palatable. She was the child of a fisherman and subsistence farmer, and the last in a family of 10 children born in the village of Tong on the Scottish Isle of Lewis. “It was not an easy existence,”
the only thing you can do Jummy is assume and ignore facts. you have nothing. . you cannot even admit you are wrong.
you lose..
additionally... you did just state a position on Reparations... you just can not realize it. unless you are going to contradict your own statements..

jimboston wrote:1) I said “I’d bet somewhere in Trump’s family they owned slaves too”. Now we all know I was talking about slaves in America. So if that was the bet I would have lost.I can accept losing a bet. However, if you’re going to be a b***h about it then we can go be the technical definition of what I actually wrote and not what was implied.Technically his family history includes every ancestor. So, though I can’t prove some “great-to the power of 50” grandfather owned a slave, you can’t prove he didn’t.So since you’re a b***h the ‘bet’ is a push.2) I said kid can’t be punished for the sins of their fathers. This is NOT the same as stating a position on reparations. Even though individuals can’t/shouldn’t be punished... that doesn’t mean that society can’t take collective action to right past wrongs or try to balance the scale. That’s different.Your inability to understand nuance makes ‘discussing’ stuff with you hard.If you wanna start a separate thread about reparations we can discuss that.... in general I will say I’m opposed to outright cash payments, but i’m willing to compromise if we can agree to end the conversation and put this to bed as a society.

1) it's impossible to prove a negative ( proving innocence ). you made a claim it is up to you to prove your statements.. if you cannot .. then you lose. you cannot . so you lose
2) like I said . your "child is not responsible for the fathers actions " is a clear defense for Anti-Reparations. along with your statement of "in general I will say I’m opposed to outright cash payments".. if you feel guilty Jimmy.. then give someone your stuff.. that is on you.. and your guilt.
I have no clue why you are continuing to defend these positions you lost on both fronts. but you just keep on arguing..
