Jazz is a complex genre because unlike other genres like Rock, it's a fairly broad category. Most "straight" jazz is still nightclub based. It's like the modern equivalent of a chamber quartet, only with better booze.

Remember Tzor's simple definition for Jazz ... Tag team soloists working off of a common chart.
A proper definition goes back to the African roots of Jazz, but that's way too complex for this place.

Lol- fair enough, but Jazz isn't really as complicated as it's made out to be. I've never really liked the idea that jazz had to require some level of genius, or genes to play it.
