My top is the Enchanted Tiki Room. It's such a time travel to the 1950s. When I was in HS we went to Disneyland on a class trip one year and my friends and I went to the Tiki Room twice and then, two years later, we went back and went like three times.

You just sit there and relax and watch a bunch of animatronic parrots sing a catchy song.

Second fav is the Main Street Electrical Parade, though now I think it's the Soundsational Parade (?), which is dumb. The Main Street Electrical Parade is unlike anything ever. It's a sensory overload! This is America's greatest achievement - 40 years later and still no country has been able to replicate it.

The lovely Rebecca, a girl I dated in the latter half of '79, played in a marching band in Disneyland. That was my star attraction.

Why is it that all of Dukasaur's stories sound like the start of true crime Podcasts?

Mission to Mars was kind of cute, especially when the hidden vacuum in the seats activated and your bottom being pulled towards the seat gave the illusion of pulling G's (especially when accompanied by the seat shaking).

Here is the information from the Disney Wiki

The attraction was originally named Rocket to the Moon when it opened in 1955, along with the Disneyland Park itself. The ride was refurbished to Flight to the Moon in 1967. In 1975, the destination was changed to Mars because humans had already been to the Moon. During that time, the attraction was considerably dated.

A lot of the attractions in California were copied in Florida, including Flight to the moon shortly after the park opened in 1971. It was renamed at the same time.

Mission to Mars closed at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on October 4, 1993.

I believe my experience of it was when I was at the park in 1990.

Have not been to Disneyland since 1980. Now that I live in Southwest Florida, have no intention of visiting the place......unless they add a Red Light District based on Amsterdam.

Too many kiddies there, but that may attract some of the above posters.
