new project

Postby jonesthecurl on Sat Dec 01, 2018 3:14 pm

So I have a potentially interesting project on the horizon - someone wants to write a book about arab and berber legends and myths, and they need help with polishing up their English - which is her third language (after Arabic and French). I've asked for some sample paragraphs to see how much work is necessary.

Sounds spooky!

The vanished caravan.

Spice traders and shape shifting dunes.

The only stuff I know that's remotely connected is some Sufi parables.

Jones, I finished the text using Indesign and did the cover in photo shop. Had to get help on the cover. Lots to learn and remember. Plan on giving it to my wife on Christmas. Very happy.

Nice one.
For my novel's cover I used two programs, Gimp and Paint.net. Gimp will do just about anything, provided you can get your head around it ( it's bloody difficult to do very simple stuff sometimes), and paint.net is less versatile but more user-friendly.

I used Gimp on The Periodic Table of Elements map. What I found hard was once I hit the save button there was no going back. Maybe there was a way but I found that frustrating.
