It's official: no one likes Macron

Postby mrswdk on Wed Sep 26, 2018 3:07 am

After 16 months in office, the promises of economic growth and more jobs have yet to materialise.

The French president is shedding popularity fast.

The polling agencies agree that Emmanuel Macron's popularity is at its lowest point.

According to OpinionWay, only 28% of voters are satisfied with his performance - down from 35% in July. With these figures, he is actually more unpopular at this point in his mandate than were either of his predecessors - François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy.

He's popular amongst the EU globalists.

Last week Macron pulled a classic fascist move. Trying to eliminate his biggest competitor, Marine le Pen by sending her for psychiatric tests. The deep state tried it with Trump.

Psychiatric tests are legally mandatory and sent to people who had shown pictures of terrorism and prosecuted for this, as MLP did when she tweeted pictures of Daesh... whatever message brought, it's automatic. It is the procedure provided for by the Code of Criminal Procedure for cases of violent messages broadcast (article 706-47).
Article 706-47-1 (active since 1st January 2005- enough old, isn't it, to be aware of this) "Persons prosecuted for one of the offenses mentioned in article 706-47 must be subjected, before any judgment on the merits, to a medical expertise". Law could be discussed, but it's not personnal agaisnt her, so please don't talk about this non-info...

Ok, that makes not one ounce of sense.

You're right, talking about a Macron government complot against her doesn't make any sense. She is prosecuted since 2015 for her tweets, she should have already known she would have to do this tests...

"at this point in his presidency" is a very misleading statement. Hollande was polling in the single digits before Macron came in. French presidents always poll low. Newspapers always mislead when they start including numbers. They are misleading since they are not providing a context.

However, the point is still true that the Le Pens should have been in power for the last 30 years and then France wouldn't be a Muslim nation, responsible for 9/11.

Maybe France keeps electing bad presidents.

Of Americans who were eligible to vote in 2016, only about 25% actually went out and voted for Trump. Since then he has consistently polled an approval rating of about 35-40%, meaning he has retained support among both people who voted for him and people who did not vote for him.

Of French who were eligible to vote in 2017, just under 50% went out and voted for Macron. Since then his approval ratings have consistently slid and are now at 28%, meaning (at least) half of the people who voted for him now disapprove of his leadership.

Those two numbers are based on totally different things. Trumps vote % is a sample of both Americans who vote and of the portion of that sample who voted Trump. Approval percentage a simple random sampling of the population, no control for likely (never mind actual) voters. He's roughly maintained the record low approval/disapproval ratings he had at the election.

Though, unlike previous presidents, Trump's approval rating has remained steady and not declined. This summer Trump's approval rating tied Obama's at the same point in his presidency. Among likely voters, he moved past Obama during the same period.

Obama sold in a lot of sizzle but, voters quickly realized, he wasn't offering much steak. Ergo, he started high and then his ratings immediately went into freefall. Trump said exactly what he was going to do - sans exaggeration - and then did it. Ergo, he has been a beacon of stability in approval ratings.

I never said the 35-40% was 35-40% of actual voters, I said it was 35-40% of the population. Read my post again.
