I've been doing pretty well! Learning a lot, writing a lot; that's how it goes these days.

Self-development? Sure. Just the other day I saw a homeless guy on the street and explained how if I gave him any of my money I would be doing a disservice to the market economy. Then I told him "get a fucking job, you bum."

Great work! If the market failed him and the government failed him, then it's not your problem.

However, you should've offered him a cigarette for $1. He'd would've likely bargained you down to $0.50.

Things seem ok with me. I had a nice vacation during summer and may have gotten a raise. I bought a Pfluger presedente and decided I would rather have a Mitchell 308 but am trying to just move on and be satisfied with the one I bought.

What are ( were? ) you writing?
