A "space" ... I'm assuming this is "vertical space."

Right click on the paragraph. Go to "Paragraph..."
Under the first tab, Indents and Spacing go to the third section "Spacing" and verify that both before and after has "0 pt."

To do this for everyone
On the Home tab right click on "Normal"
Select "Modify" on the lower tab select "Paragraph" and do the thing I just mentioned above.
