That is some bizarre revisionist history there. European nations colonizing abroad were in most cases removing bloodthirsty despot kings and replacing them with stability and good government. Europeans may have had to break the occasional egg to make an omelette, but they brought vaccinations, the rule of law, egalitarianism. road and railroads, peace and stability. Far from terrorizing the populations, they were in most cases liberating the majority of the people from poverty and slavery, stamping out random torture and cannibalism, and easily doubled the life expectancy of the people they took stewardship over.
