I am fascinated. I took my family to Rexburg and then once we discovered it, the campground at Jefferson Lake, to watch the eclipse. On of the days we were there, we went to see Craters of the Moon national monument. On the way we started seeing huge signs that pretty much said, "INL restricted area." It was quite interesting to be in the dessert on a highway and there is a gate with a big sign like that. Then some have a large white SUV with a guard inside incase you would consider ignoring the sign's warning.
Then after going to Atomic City as we continued our day trip, we passed a sign announcing, EBR-1 museum. Once we had stopped to look at the lava fields of Craters of the Moon, we went back to stop at EBR-1. It was amazing.
As llama mentions we are quite fourtunate to have google to direct us to plenty of great text and even videos about the various aspects about the research at INL.
