Where did North Korea get the technology for ICBM?

Postby GoranZ on Mon Aug 14, 2017 3:10 pm

North Korea’s success in testing an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears able to reach the United States was made possible by black-market purchases of powerful rocket engines probably from a Ukrainian factory with historical ties to Russia’s missile program, according to an expert analysis being published Monday and classified assessments by American intelligence agencies.
The studies may solve the mystery of how North Korea began succeeding so suddenly after a string of fiery missile failures, some of which may have been caused by American sabotage of its supply chains and cyberattacks on its launches. After those failures, the North changed designs and suppliers in the past two years, according to a new study by Michael Elleman, a missile expert at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

North Korea’s Missile Success Is Linked to Ukrainian Plant, Investigators Say

war is good for business, GoranZ. any war, really - just so long as it isn't fought within your own national boundaries.

Obama's record of reasonable, respectable diplomacy:
Civil war in Ukraine
Civil war in Libya
Civil war in Syria
North Korea armed with ICBMs new addition 2017!!

Trump's record of crazy, unhinged, laughable diplomacy:
Pledge from NATO's European members to increase defense spending
Thaw in relations with Russia
China and Russia supporting sanctions against North Korea

Final score: why can't we have Obama back??? says no one ever

Agreed Mrsdock, It's a shame we can't we have Obama back!

Trump refuses to commit to core principle of Nato for mutual defense among members.
Thaw in relations with Russia.... until it's exposed that Russia tampered with US election in order to get trump elected, which has a de-legitimizing effect on the entire US election system, and forces US into a position to increase tensions between these two contries to the greatest degree we've seen since the cold war
Russia and China continue to vote as they had during the Obama administration in regards to sanction against North Korea
(United Nations Security Council Resolution 2270, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2094, etc)
Trump threatens a Nuclear War 'like the world has never seen'
Trump gives de facto approval to the rise of Nazism in America, until outside pressure build to the point where he must condemn his voter base publicly.
Trump does nothing to solve Libya, Syria and Ukraine, Iraq, Afganistan. But no one seems to care because he's destabilizing the whole globe doing some 'next level shit' to distract the media.

Unfortunately I agree... War is very profitable for handful of men, and nightmare for million others.

I do not know what the rules are in China, but in the USA we have something called the Constution, which governs many matters, including why Obama cannot again serve as the US President:

Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Twenty-second Amendment (Amendment XXII) of the United States Constitution sets a term limit for election and overall time of service to the office of President of the United States. Congress passed the amendment on March 21, 1947. Ratification by the requisite 36 of the then-48 states was completed on February 27, 1951.
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,

Even though I agree Obama's foreign policy could have been better. You are mistaken on one point. The other NATO-members already committed to increasing military expenditures during the last year of the Obama administration. This was not a Trump victory.

NATO's creation centered around battling the Axis powers, and in some to most cases, communism. NATO is practically U.S ran at this stage. It's function and form serve no other purpose, in my uneducated opinion, other than to voice other nations concerns. We really don't need it in today's world.

We would definitely see a large increase in our cyber security department if it were to hold true. Also depends if Trump actually colluded with Russia to get elected, and if that is true, he'd shortly be impeached and Mike Pence would take over office shortly afterwards.
Truth be told, our cyber security sucks. It's an ever-evolving risk that the government can't seem to keep pace with. If a 15 year old kid can hack into and get a hold of classified information, then it's really high time the U.S. looks into the who, what, where, why and how, rather than getting the CIA and FBI involved and forgetting about it shortly afterwards.

No one wants to deal with North Koreas bullshit. It's been going on for years and years and years and it's the same old bullshit. Trump just lacks tact compared to...Pretty much everyone else that's been President.

Holy shit does that last statement ring true, to an extent. I've never seen such racial divide until these last few years, and Trump did little to nothing to address it, and more or less has been promoting it, just indirectly. Whether he's blindly ignorant or just plain stupid to see his target demograph has been made up of ignorant hicks, or people voting for him because "better than Hillary" or offering some form of change compared to the past decade, is astounding.
Speaking of racial divide, however, whatever happen to these activists saying "We will not be divided!"? We're horribly divided, more so than we have in decades. Obama didn't solve it, whether he just didn't care or the lack of trying tells me they're just going to let it play out, let us throw our tantrum until we lose our breathe.

I don't get it, really. Trump has proven thus far, that he's not the best fit for the moment. We have so many issues back home that need to be addressed and they're simply being treated as miniscule problems. Obama wasn't much better. And Bush was atrocious. Back to back of weak Presidents.
