Best Batman Actor- a random poll

Who's the best batman? Gotta be between Conroy and Bale for me.

Christopher Nolan's trilogy are the only batman movies that are worth watching.

They are the best, but the old Adam West movie is a joy, and the first couple by Tim Burton are actually pretty creepy. Jack Nicholson as the Joker is scarier than Heath Ledger. Plus some of the animated ones are good too- Mask of the Phantasm, for example.

They're not worthless- save that for Batman and Robin.

You couldn't fart out an original thought.

Kevin Conroy is just too iconic as the voice of Batman.

If I had to give it to anyone in terms of live action, Ben Affleck steals it for me.

Affleck and Clooney really nail down the Bruce Wayne part of the character. Kevin Conroy seems best at both worlds, even if it's just the voice.

Clooney is a maybe. Every time I think of Clooney, I can't help but think that he starred in one of the most terrible movies ever made and that his costume looked awful. That and bat nips. The playboy philanthropist was good, though, it was Clooney so he didn't really need to try.

I think I've said it before for Affleck, but he basically made the Superman vs Batman movie tolerable. I think both his portrayal as Bruce and as Batman were phenomenal, despite the terrible script. "If there's a 1% chance, we have to treat that as a surety".
I'll give a nod to Christian Bale but I can't stand his voice and the fuckin shaky cam that made it impossible to enjoy any action scenes.

You can revel in your batman ranking now, DDS, but never again, because according to your way of thinking, if anyone is interested in this thread later, that would be n****bumping!
Conclusion either batman is only of ephemeral interest or the date stamps on posts and threads mean nothing.

And a rather original thought on my part.

There's much to love about Adam West as Batman, but people only remember the fun bits of his era.

That, right there, is the kind of politically correct passive-aggressive whiny self-rightous killjoy crap that has made Symmetry a CC synonym for 'vomit'.
So sorry, Sym-bot, your lefty pet-minority or pervo-special-interest isn't being alternately coddled and then lionized both for no good reason like nowadays.

And yes, though I refuse to vote in a Sym poll, Adam West was the best Batman.

No love at all for Jack Nicholson's Joker? The scene where he gets his bandages removed? Really not worth watching?

You watch this:

And yet you say- "that was not only not worth watching, but I will multiply my negativity tenfold, and yea, tenfold again, and yea yet another tenfold" (to paraphrase). Poor Adam West (RIP).

No I never liked the jack Nicholson joker. And the above clip is awful.
I hated batman, honestly hated the concept until the Nolan version came out.

Fair enough. I'd ususally leave it at that, but why did you hate the concept? You've kinda picked some extreme terms in this thread.

Conroy's voices for Bruce/Batman are too fitting and iconic. If a Batman Beyond live action film is ever done, I hope he gets to be Bruce Wayne in it.

Live Action, the Keaton films are good (Nicholson's Joker, the Pengiun, and Catwoman were all good to watch). The Nolan films are too adapted to be "realistic", and Bale's throat cancer voice was cringy every time. Batfleck though? I liked him in BvS. For once, we had a Batman that could do fight scenes like the comics/games/and animated series. Big, imposing, and went through those goons like a hot knife through butter.

And, now for my most controversial opinion; Heath Ledger's Joker didn't feel like "Joker" to me. Like, in any aspect. If he had gone by the name of "Anarky", then I would have been fine with him. But overall? Give me Nicholson, Mark Hamill, or even Ceasar Romero's Jokers over his, as those actually feel like Joker to me.

Now, blast away.

Christian Bale isn't a particularly good actor IMHO. I think Christopher Nolan knows how to use his woodenness in films- get him to be a kind of anchor, and let better actors show alternatives.

Not trying to say he's a bad actor- he very clearly isn't, but he's at his best when his range is limited to either blank mystery or nutso violence.
