Modern Opera - Trigger Warning

Postby BoganGod on Tue Jul 11, 2017 12:15 am

TRIGGER WARNING - BDSM Themes, ADULT LANGUAGE, HOMOEROTIC Imagery, Feminist Cringe(VOMIT WARNING)

Hollywood is always late to the party. Lacking in originality, making remakes and sequels rather than trying something new. Here is an Australian comedy trio, last century re imagining a once popular musical/theatre artform. Enjoy my pretties.

Then you have the crazy feminists........ Those without humour are doomed to fail in everything except accounting and database coding.

This seems as apropos a place as any to repost the 'Wife of Mao Tse-Dong' aria.

Yes, whenever anyone talks about "Modern Opera" my first thought is John Adams.
Doctor Atomic is also a good opera in it's own strange way.

Another one is Charles Peter Wuorinen
Haroun and the Sea of Stories was an interesting opera performed in 2004 by the then New York Opera Company (it subsequently died but it got better .. the company not the opera).
